Course Curriculum Overview

3

Curriculum is designed in a way that if any student likes another field another than the course he/she enrolled.he/she can easily go within that by persuing minor degree in that particular course . Frequency of exams is two times in one semester. Exams are not too hard .

Internships Opportunities

5

As i am in first year.i am not so awared of internships but I heard by some seniors that many students got internships and some of them got pre placement offers. Approx 400 students got internship. And some are foreign interships are also .

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semester students are eligible for placement and in 5th or 6th sem some students may get PPO. I don't know the all companies name but some are apple , Microsoft,Amazon, groww ,blue yonder, the assualt group many companies are there. And total of approximately 1400 offers are made in all sectors. Average package of nit Rourkela is 13 lpa and highest is 120 lpa last year . Approx 85-90% students got placed. Pllams is simple after degree is getting a good placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

In Nit Rourkela fees is paid semester wise and tution fees of each semester is 62500 So yearly fees is 125000. Admission fee =2500(one time) Institute emergency fund =12500(one time ) Medical fee=5000(every semester) Student activities fee =2000(each semester) Other fees* =5000 (every semester) In Nit Rourkela waiver in tution is also for students who have low family income . For students having 1 lakh to 5 lakh annual income 67% waiver is there on tution fees (62500) in each semester . For those having less than 1 lakh 100% waiver on tuition fees For Sc/st there is 100% waiver irrespective of there family income. And I am not aware of scholarships is there or not in nit Rourkela but they asked our abc I'd during registration.

Campus Life

5

Some fests are like cosmopolitan, innovision Innovision is one of India's biggest technical fest. Innovision is probably in November and cosmo in October. Biggest fest of Nit Rourkela is NitR utsav . Books are easily available in Biju Patnaik central library of Nit Rourkela. Faculties are good in classrooms ac are there smart boards and smart lecture stands with speaker in every corner of class . Sports facilities are very good at nit Rourkela. There are more than 80 clubs in nit Rourkela.if you are a extra curricular student it may be best place for you

Hostel Facilities

4

Room facilities are bed ,table , network connection through Lan ,fan etc . Mess is quite good here .6 days in a week students got non veg to eat . If you are non ved lover it is best meal according to hostels for you . Registration process occur after arriving here it just about 10-20 minutes not so much time . I don't rented a room or pg yet so I can't tell about this .

Admission

I applied for some other top nits like nit Warangal and not surathkal.i didn't opt them because I am getting mining and metallurgy branch there in which I am not interested. So that's why I choose civil in Nit Rourkela. I rejected by not Trichy because I didn't getting any branch there except Trichy I am getting all nits . Admission process is by josaa counseling online. Those who qualified in jee mains can apply for josaa and cuttoffs is different for different categories.

Faculty

4

1 is to 13 is nearly faculty to students ratio. Faculty students relationship is quite good . Faculties are not too strict except one or two which is okay . Till now in first year I found my life science faculty is very cool and friendly whose name is sujit bhutia sir and physics sir is also funny and not strict whose name is pawan kumar sir . Till now I don't found any faculty which I didn't like. One or two faculties are strict it's there nature .they are not behaving strict by own . Two times exams are conducted in Nit Rourkela one is mid sem and end sem Difficult level is not too much hard it is very easy to score if you are going to classes regularly. I don't the exact data like how many students got failed . Curriculum is okay .first year have little little syllabus of every branch .

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

From 7th sem the students became eligible for campus selection. Companies like Infosys, EVEREADY, ACC , ultratech and many more offering annual packages starting from 2lakhs to 8lakhs. Highest 8lakhs annual packages and average was like 3.5lakh to 4.5 lakh. Approximately 70 to 80 percentage of students are getting placements every year. After getting the degree i want to do a job in electrical companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
