A life in Jipmer

Likes

I like the way of teaching of the faculties
I like the infrastructure which is calm , clean and perfect
I like the practical approach of the curriculum

Dislikes

Just the faculties are strict and ordering not more than that

It is more relevant and includes many facts that a normal person should be knowing . It not only helps in earning and also to know a human both physically and mentally. We can know the best in us and become the best in that field

JIPMER AN OVERVIEW

Likes

Campus is students friendly, freedom for everything,
Very much less amount of fees and better facilities
Highly qualified professor for taking classes and more patient interaction

Dislikes

Academic schedule is very stress full may affect mental health
Intership some posting are too hectic to handle
High amount of toxicity seen in some departments

Curriculum is fantastic properly planned from first day of first year to last day of final year It went as exactly planned for me It will be better if we get some more study leaves 3 internal and 1 model exam will be there divided throughout the year and exams are little tough

JIPMER: Above and Beyond

Likes

The campus as well as the academics is very good.
There are very good research opportunities even for the undergraduates.
There are good facilities to pursue other hobbies such as sports and culturals.

Dislikes

75 percent attendance is compulsory and they are quite serious regarding that.
Attendance is not through biometric so there is no chance for proxy.
Every day the classes start at 8 AM in the morning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS in general is a very long and tiresome course. I suggest you to only take it if you are really passionate about it. Having said that, JIPMER's curriculum is one of the best all over India. They focus majorly on the clinical skills which ensures that by the time you finish your course, you will become one of the best clinicians.

Life at JIPMER,Puducherry

Likes

Other than academics they're very lenient and u get to explore a lot of the city play sports etc
We have two fests every year -a medical fest connaissance and a cultural fest spandan
The faculty (esp final year) are top notch

Dislikes

They are very strict regarding attendance
Academics are taken very seriously and are stressfull
Hostels dont have acs (and you can't even install them on ur own since the power source trips)

I wanted to be a doctor so I took up the mbbs course.There is a lot of hands-on learning in the clinical postings so it's very useful.The only negative is that there are a lot of exams-there's an internal once every 2 to 3 months

The journey from a student to a doctor in jipmer

Likes

The infrastructure is just awesome and huge
The faculties are well educated and well trained
Students have full access to do research

Dislikes

Work life is totally hectic and a bit toxic
There should be a food chain company in the campus but jipmer doesnt allow that
the academic system is very strict and doesn’t tolerate any discripency

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is followed by the guidelines made by the NMC with some amount of modifications, the minimum score to pass an exam here is 50% and you have to get good scores in exam to jump to next semester, exams are conducted semester wise with moderate to hard level in exam and I believe there is nothing to be improved

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is one such course which requires sheer determination and excess amount of efforts both physical and mental. The curriculum is very huge compared to what we read in 12th std and the practical aspect of handling patients requires lot's of knowledge. The clas lectures help you to some extent but self prep is a must In JIPMER, we have 3 IAs per year and then one model exam and an end year university exam. The difficulty level reduces from IA to university exam

There are a lot of committees which involves u every time in all events
The academic department is really chill with students taking leave if they don't wish to attend class but u do have to maintain minimum attendance
There is no restriction in hostels.. in the sense there is no time limit

Dislikes

The exam frequency is too high in my opinion
Especially the final exams are too daunting
The standard of exams are bit high when I compare with other colleges

The exams are quite difficult and there is a good frequency of exams. There is a lot of case based questions so it kinda prepares us for the real time scenarios which is great. The aspect of dealing with healing diseases is what made me get into the field

Human anatomy and physiology with biochemistry and pharmacology influenced me to chose this course. Curriculum is well orientated. Anatomy department should be changed. Six internal exam along with one send up and university is there.

The area in which JIPMER is present that is pondicherry is a tourist spot
Also the college life here is worth experiencing

Dislikes

The admission procedure was quite long .
Sometimes the exams and assessments are little tough
The climate is too hot in april may months

Like any other institution, JIPMER will offer you some of the best and worst days of your life.

Academically, I gained exposure to a vast variety of cases. This has worked to enhance my confidence as a medical professional.

In the Pediatrics ward, you may visit the neonatal ICU, and see how sick newborns are taken care of. You may attempt resuscitation on a baby. You may conduct deliveries in the Labour room, and perform minor sutures. You may interact with cancer patients, and others suffering from life threatening illnesses. You may work in the surgical emergency department.You’ll witness many births and deaths.

JIPMER lets you explore your field of interest. Whichever department you are interested in, you can volunteer for the same. You can volunteer in every department if you like, no one will stop you.

I secured 548 marks(GEN) in neet 2022 and I want to pursue Bsc Nursing. Which college should i choose from JIPMER,LHMC,RAKCON? I want to work abroad after my nursing degree. I am from Maharashtra. Please help me regarding these. I am very confused what college to choose as I am eligible for all the colleges.

All the three insitiutes are popular and good for pursuing B.Sc Nursing program. But considering the factors such as infrastructure, faculty, exposure, internships, placements, etc. JIPMER stands on top of the other two colleges.
