Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to be a doctor so I took up the mbbs course. There is a lot of hands-on learning in the clinical postings so it's very useful. The only negative is that there are a lot of exams-there's an internal once every 2 to 3 months

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We have a mandatory internship which pays out around 30k per month currently There is a lot of experience that can be gained through the internship We have various postings such as surgery medicine psm uhc rhc etc

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is around 12k/year(academic) The hostel fee is also around 12-15k/year It's 12k for a double room and a 15k for a single room There are no campus employment opportunities as such This is very less compared to the average fee in a private medical college which is about 15 lakhs/year

Campus Life

4.5

Hostel Facilities

4

There's a cupboard and small shelf for each person in the rooms. There are 2 mess-common mess and harvey mess operating currently The food is pretty good and the menu keeps changing every month The registration process for the hostel happens along with the admission

Admission

U have to write NEET to enter The cutoff is around rank 220 in general I got rank 149 in neet 2021 and I availed by seat through general quota NEET is a yearly exam with easy difficulty. The main focus is on the accuracy part as with even one mistake your rank can drop by hundreds or thousands. I think the whole process should be made more transparent.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS in general is a very long and tiresome course. I suggest you to only take it if you are really passionate about it. Having said that, JIPMER's curriculum is one of the best all over India. They focus majorly on the clinical skills which ensures that by the time you finish your course, you will become one of the best clinicians.
