Dislikes
- College infrastructure is not so good. Small college campus and very few students get hostel accommodation.
- Less on campus placement opportunities for cse and it students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The b.tech in cse course is the most chosen course in today's era. This course enables the student to innovate and create new technologies. The tech industry is rapidly growing and the computer science professionals are high in demand. Exams are conducted in the interval of 2-3 months.
Fees and Financial Aid
This college has 3 departments i.e. CSE, IT AND CT. Fees for CSE department is Rs.12000 per year. Fees for IT and CT departments are Rs.24000 and Rs. 6000 respectively. Total amount to be paid during admission in CSE department is Rs.8801 which includes admission fee i.e. Rs.1000, tution fee: Rs.3000, caution money: Rs.300, university development fee: Rs.2200, university registration fee: Rs.500, semester exam fee: Rs.1200 and other fee: Rs 601 . You can also avail free studentship scheme if your family income is below 2.5lacs.
Campus Life
Our college campus is full of greenery. Cricket, badminton, table tennis, chess, carrom are played by students. Annual tech fest, KARMATEK and annual cultural fest, JAGRITI is organised every year. Gym facilities are also there in our college. All classrooms are equipped with projectors and microphones.
Admission
I got metallurgical engineering in NIT durgapur and mining engineering in IIEST shibpur. But i want to study computer science engineering. I got cse in makaut university. But the college is situated in outskirts of kalyani city. The fees of makaut is also very high. So i left makaut and join gcect.
Faculty
The college faculties are very helpful. They hear all doubts and are very student friendly. I like all my teachers. Total theory marks is 100 and total lab marks is 100. For theory 2 midsems of 15 marks and 1 semester end exam of 100 marks are conducted. Further marks are given by continuous internal evaluations. 60 marks are given for lab notebook and experiments done. Other 40 marks are given on the basis of internal exam and external exam.75% attendance is mandatory to sit in the sem end exam. In both theory exam and lab exam 50 marks is the pass marks.
Night Life
This college is situated in the middle of kolkata. So late night transport is available here. Late night online food delivery is also available. The locality is totally safe to roam around. You can visit nicco park, science city, museum etc in your free time.
