Remarks

I applied for two more colleges in my hometown but they were not good as my maitreyi college. Basically we can say the main reasons for choosing this college are Academic programs, Research opportunities, campus life, Ranking etc. Overall everything was wonderful when comparing to the other two colleges I applied. I didn't applied any other college where I got rejection. As I already mentioned about the colleges I applied I got selected in both but didn't want to continue in them so choose maitreyi college. So basically admission process was so easy and mine was based on cut off. I secured good marks in my Senior Secondary class so i got admission easily. And after that we have to submit our documents online on official mail of college. After 10 days official process are completed and orientation and classes started. Now everything is change you have to clear CUET entrance exam and then you have to go for counselling and you got selected and all these. But I can surely say mine was so easy.

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

Strength was about 50 students in out batch that was A1. Total strength of my course was about 250 students. My college was not Co-Ed so only girls were there. I've mentioned this earlier crowd was really good. Everyone was so humble and polite. Everyone helps each other. No such kind of thing was not there. You have to attend classes submit your work on time that's all . Anything beyond this is volunteer work no marks were issued for that. Yes obviously everyone did.

Fees and Financial Aid

So overall fees for the three years was around 30k. But like yearly we have to pay Rs 9500 in addition with examination fees which was around Rs 2500. That's all that was the fees we have to pay. Transport fees was up to us coz there were no buses at all. That was government college so only tuition fees and examination fees was there. It was lower then the other colleges obviously. In private colleges they charge 50k for one semester and that is huge so maitreyi college charged really a fair amount of fees. Apart from fees there was no charge at all. For your food, lunch etc. there was canteen pay nd get your food in minutes that's all. No I don't think so there was such kind of thing that fees vary on basis of different categories. For everyone that tuition fees was same. I never applied for scholarships but yes college provides such kind of financial- aid. And I don't even know about this how many students received that money or not. No body told us so.

Campus Life

1.5

Sports Facilities * Outdoor Sports: Football field, cricket ground, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court. * Indoor Sports: Badminton court, table tennis tables, squash court. * Equipment: The college provides most of the necessary equipment for sports, but students may need to bring their own specialized gear for some activities. Auditorium and Library * Auditorium: The auditorium is spacious and well-maintained, used for various events like lectures, seminars, and cultural performances. * Library: The library has a vast collection of books, journals, and online resources. Books are generally easily accessible. * Library Timings: The library is open for extended hours, including evenings and weekends. Campus Size and Transportation * Campus Size: The campus is moderately sized, with a pleasant walking distance between the hostels and academic blocks. * Transportation: Most students travel on foot or by bicycle. Personal Vehicles * Personal Vehicles: Students are typically allowed to keep personal bikes on campus. However, the policy for cars may vary depending on the college's parking facilities and traffic regulations. Food Joints * Food Joints: Apart from the central canteen/cafeteria, there may be other food outlets on campus, such as convenience stores, coffee shops, or food trucks. Medical Center * Medical Center: The college has a medical center with a team of qualified doctors and nurses. While it can handle most common ailments, serious medical conditions may require referral to external hospitals. Overall Campus Life The campus life is vibrant and engaging, with a diverse range of activities and opportunities. Students often participate in clubs, societies, and sports teams. After classes, many students can be found studying in the library, attending club meetings, or participating in extracurricular activities. Going Out Students frequently venture outside the campus to explore local attractions, such as restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, and parks. Popular hangout spots can vary depending on the college's location and the preferences of the student body. Safety The locality is generally safe, but it's always advisable to exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings, especially during late-night hours. Fests and Cultural Events The college organizes various fests and cultural events throughout the year, including music festivals, cultural shows, and sports tournaments. These events create a lively and energetic atmosphere on campus. While specific celebrity performances may vary, popular artists often grace the stage during these events. Clubs and Committees The college offers a wide range of clubs and committees, catering to diverse interests. Some popular options include literary clubs, debating societies, sports teams, and cultural clubs. Many students actively participate in these organizations, gaining valuable skills and experiences. Important Clubs and Committees The most important clubs and committees for students often depend on their career aspirations and interests. However, clubs related to academics, research, or professional development can be particularly valuable in terms of value addition and CV pointers.

Exam Structure

Back in time when I took admission there was no entrance exam, no counselling, no interview there was simple process i mentioned earlier. But now clear the entrance exam secure good marks and get your admission according to your marks. As I've mentioned earlier that was government college so there is nothing like management quota and donation kinda thing.

The course curriculum at PCCOER can be quite challenging, as it requires a solid understanding of complex technical concepts and rigorous problem-solving skills. While the coursework is demanding, students generally manage to pass, though some do struggle with the exams, especially if they are not well-prepared. Good aspects of the course include a comprehensive syllabus that covers the essentials of the field and prepares students for real-world applications. The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, and the course is designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. On the downside, the workload can be intense, and the pressure of keeping up with the fast-paced curriculum can be overwhelming at times. Each academic year typically includes a series of exams, often comprising mid-term and end-of-term assessments. On average, students may have 4 to 6 exams spread throughout the year. Classes generally take place from early morning until late afternoon, with around 4 to 6 classes per day. Timings can vary, but students usually have a few hours of free time between classes for study or relaxation. The teaching methodology employed by the faculty includes lectures, practical sessions, and project-based learning. Some professors use interactive teaching methods and real-life case studies to enhance understanding, while others stick to more traditional lecture-based approaches. Among the faculty, I particularly admire Professor Dipali for their engaging teaching style and ability to make complex topics accessible. Conversely, I found that Professor Maithali could be less approachable and sometimes struggled to clarify difficult concepts effectively. There is a mandatory attendance rule at PCCOER, typically requiring students to maintain at least 75% attendance. If students fail to meet this requirement, they may face penalties such as being barred from exams or losing credits. I have seen a few students being penalized for not fulfilling the attendance criteria, which sometimes led to additional stress and the need for extra efforts to catch up.
