Course Curriculum Overview

4

In terms of rating my course I will give a solid 3.9. • Knowledge of practical approach is one of the best aspect i liked while choosing the course • During the course we will get to know the outer world experience too through the topics, research and critical essays. The curriculum of English honours will help you to gain knowledge in various fields like Reasearch, creative, management and Literature.

Internships Opportunities

5

PFC, BHEL, BEL and many such companies where they needed a junior receptionist invited us to intern with them. Stipend was quite low though but working there made me learn how to react and behave as receptionist always have to keep a calm face.

Placement Experience

4

Many hotels and corporate for the receptionist job as English Hons students are in huge demand for the same role. Even some power companies and all came for placements and making our placements count to some 40% of the class getting places.

Campus Life

5

One of the best fest of our college is the diwali fest during October or November and concerts held during February or March. The placement cell which is Envision provides you the opportunity to participate in the job fair held once a year.

Admission

I have applied to aryabhatta College before Maitreyi College for Women. So comparison to this college Maitreyi colleges stands out on various aspects:- Before 2024 the admission process is entirely dependent on merit list and the cutoffs. But from 2024 the admission process changed and now Cuet Exam is mandatory. A valid score of cuet and 12 th class is required. For English Honours course one must score good to get a dream college.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio:- The relationship between the faculty and student is quite good. Some professors are very approachable but some not. The faculty of English and Economics are good because they provide you with the help whenever needed. Now in english Faculty there are some members who are careless and sometimes for students it becomes difficult for the student to reach out to someone in case of emergency. There are not any other faculties i found hard to reach.

Night Life

3

As I was a regular student i don't know about the night life. But I have talked to hostelers and they have provided me the knowledge that the provisions here are excellent. Even the surroundings of the College inside and outside are safe to roam around. Library usually opens around 8 30 and cafeteria around 9 30. Whenever we used to have a recession after classes we usually go to our campus flower garden and rock garden.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option
