Course Curriculum Overview

4

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees is 32000 per annum + exam fee is upto 1600 + hostel feel is 170000 per annum Don't know the fees of other category students but various scholarships are available like pmsss,pm vidyalaxmi, pvt scholarships like reliance, hdfc etc are there

Campus Life

3

Indian music society alhayaa is really very good, debonair ( fashion society) , zeniath dance society are really really very good. All other societies are well engaging. As it is a girls college, there are various girly related stalls, brands and games occur more often. Campus gardens are good and also it shares border with srcc so the engagement is really good. The classrooms in the new building are well built and are really good but the old building really needs to be renovated

Hostel Facilities

4

There are 2 type of rooms . Two seaters and four seaters. I'm in a four seater room. The room is quite big with 4 beds , 4 cupboards , 4 study tables with 2 windows ,one mirror and two ac. The menu is good and the food is really amazing. Like we rarely spend on food as it provides 4 times meal which includes breakfast, lunch , snacks and dinner. The registration of hostel opens nearly 2 -3 days after the first list is out and atleast 4 application rounds are held. It is on merit basis and ofc on reservation. The hostel is quite expensive as compared to other hostel . The overall fees is 170000 and the mess food charges 25 k ( included in overall fee). Also there are premium rooms available which charges extra 40 k ( with attached washroom). Overall hostel is really good with regular laundry facilities , computer lab, reading room, visiting area, vibrant gardens and regular cleaning facilities. The hostel is majorly for 1st yearies as for 2nd 3rd and 4th year, there are only 9-10 seats based on highest cgpa.

Admission

I got drc in the first list. But I had options for upgrade. Though I wasn't fully satisfied as there's always a quest to have more. I freezed my seat just because of the hostel. Philosophy can be taken as and optional for upsc and even if you are not taking it as an optional still you have to study a brief about it in art and Culture. Mostly law aspirants do philosophy as it makes a broader perspective of your thinking and in second year of your course you study philosophy as well

Faculty

4

Not all colleges take mid sem but drc is one of the colleges who takes it. Faculty is good and understanding. Rigid Attendance issues are there. Some teachers are not that good as they won't understand student's condition if any! Talking about my course, it is really tough and hectic but interesting too

Night Life

3

Gym is only accessible to hostel students.the hostel in timing is comparatively less than other du colleges, it's 7:15 pm. So no nightlife is there. The locality is vibrant , the hostel is really beautiful and vibrant to roam around .

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

3 year law was a better option

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
