Course Curriculum Overview

Introduction to marine Eng. Naval architecture, marine electrical and electronic systems, engine room similation, practical's and workshops. Teaching mode is via projectors. Exams are held twice in each year . B. Tech marine Engineering is a 4 year course .

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities

College provides internship opputinities with Calcutta port trust and Garden Reach ship building. They participate in technical events of IITs along with other well known colleges. Plus college arranges technical events during their fest for exposure to building skills.

Placement Experience

From third semester onwards companies keep recruiting for cadets. You have to maintain a decent percentage and remain all clear in your semesters to appear for college placements. Based on demands, cadets who remain all clear will get enough chances to sit for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it's a central govt undertaking college so the course fees is quite affordable and reasonable compared to other private colleges. For each semester approx cost is 1.25 lakhs. Placement is about 90 percent. You have to be all clear throughout all semesters.

Campus Life

Campus life includes so much extracurricular activities and sports. All types of sports options are available depending on your interest. College has coaches to train you and improve your training process. College participates in tournaments, debates, cultural fests , etc providing exposure to the students

Hostel Facilities

For first year to third year you have to share room with cadets. In final year you will get your own room. Hostels have newsrooms with 150 plus seating arrangements for each hostel. There are 7 hostel blocks , new junior hostel, junior hostel, east wing, west wing, OBC , L wing and senior hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

To avail B. Tech marine you have to take PCM as combo in your 11-12 th, then only you can appear for IMUCET which is generally held every year around June. You have to keep following the IMU official website for getting updates regarding the IMUCET.

Faculty

Faculty with advanced degrees and relevant certifications. Professors with real world experience in the maritime field. Faculties who publish papers, books and research in the maritime field. Students are mentored in such a way to achieve academic and professional success.

GOOD College at low fees.

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
