Remarks
overall its all good. but only problem is the political influence the college faces from time to time.
Entrance Preview
The course of IEE is a very versatile one. With this you have very diverse options of getting into any of the fields of your choice, whether it is related to electronics(product based, believe me, TI recruits in good numbers from this depart.), industries, contracting(in which I am currently working), computer science as well as data sciences. You can literally find yourself fitting in each aspect and can have a very good prospect in your firm. An added advantage of a very powerful alumni association counts as well. Plus PSU recruitments are carried out during placements. Another point, search for best universities in India for research, I hope you won't need to scroll down below top 5.
Course Curriculum Overview
as explained earlier it is very versatile and worth studying. All basic engineering courses are taught, and since instrumnetation is supposedly the jack of all trades, hence you will be getting a feel of all sorts of engineering desciplines, with sensors and digital/analog electronics being the core of the course.
Internships Opportunities
internships are provided by companies whichh come for placements. but that holds good for limited branches only. like CSE, ECE, IT or INSTRUMENTATION
Placement Experience
placements, particularly for instrumentation department is quite good. infact it is the best prforming department in terms of placements, which is at par with that of CSE, ECE or IT. you need not to bother about placements. this year only i came to know that avg package for instrumentation branch was 9.65 lpa.
College Events
CIIPPUS at salt lake campus : freshers events for the 1st yr freshmen. U Turn : central freshers event. Sanskriti : Cultural fest which goes on for 7 days. Srijan : techno fest which goes on for around 3 days. other than that annual sports meet will happen.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Any person from ang walk of society can study here. for engg. courses: fee is ?9800 (nine thousand eight hundred overall) for all four years ( except department of IT) for IT : ?20000 per year. For other courses of arts and science faculty, it would be cheaper than that, but i litearlly speaking dont have any idea regarding that.
Fees and Financial Aid
truly speaking, you dont need any scholarship or loan to study in JU. Its 9800 INR for 4 years. Yeah you heard me right. 200 INR monthly and hostel accomodation is at 25 INR monthly. Now start googling.
Campus Life
everything is good, except for the extracurricular, and that also im music. wrt sports, you get to play many state and national level events. but for music there are lower chances that you get anything worthy(provided you really excel at it). it should be noted cultural fests are really mind blowing.
Hostel Facilities
For students residing at Salt lake campus its heaven. they get single room accomodation from the very 1st yr itself and that also for ?25 monthly. who gets that ???? the hostel environment at salt lake campus is really quiet and no extraterrestrial disturabnces will be there, if you know what i mean :D :D
Alumni/Alumna
a very powerful alumni network endorses JU. We have seniors in each and every sector of corporate as well as administeration.
Exam Structure
normally people will have practicals and theory paoers as usual. for one theory paper there will be two class tests for 30 marks each and a major semeater exam whichc can either be of 70 marks or less, depends on the professor( like if they want to keep marks for assignment or attendance, then that is also possible).
Admission
its plain and simple. we need to write WBJEE entrace exam. based on that selection occurs. there will be two papers, one combined paper for phy and chem and other one for math. both paoers will be of 100 to 150 marks each. that varies from year to year.. fir us it wad 100 marks each. if you could secure above 110 marks chances are fairly high to get into good branches of JU.
Faculty
Old is gold. Maximum of the professors and researchers who teach in JU are either passout from JU itself or brok some other renowed universities, IITs or IISC. You will be under guidance of these bigshots, now i dont think i need to say anything further.
