I liked the culture here at IIT KHARAGPUR
Mentorship is very good here with mentors from society, hall and depts.
Sports, Socult and tech culture is very good

Dislikes

Professors may be inconsiderate at times
Weather is not very good especially in summers
IIT Kharagpur is not near any major metro city with Kolkata being 140 kms away

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is very detailed here since ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Department is one of the oldest here at IIT Kharagpur in India. Exams are quite difficult but department is very good if you are targetting core placements. Exams are held twice a semester.

Career Development Centre (CDC), IIT Kharagpur organises a internship drive in 4th and 5th, and 6th and 7th semster for BTech and dual degree atudents respectively. Almost all well reputed companies of software, data, product, consult and top core departments.viait campus for the drive. One must have some good experience for the relevant profile to get shortlisted.

Placements are held in 7th semester for Btech students and 9th semester for Dual Degree students. Almost all well reputed companies in software, product and core dept like electrical visit IIT Kharagpur. Highest package go as high as 3 CR while median remains at 20 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee is 100000 per semester, hostel establishment charges are approximately 15000 and mess charges are also around 15000. Fee waivers and MCM schooarship is available according to family income and merit

Campus Life

Kshitij and Spring Fest are held in January each year. There are several other festivals like VIRASAT 2024. There are several depqrtment fests. There is club for almost everything from social to tech to sports to adventure.

Hostel facility is good acoording to the price per semester It provides you good experience with your hallmates for lifetime. Registration is not required to be done manually, it happens automatically upon admission.

JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCED JEE MAINS AND JEE advanced websites Reservation not availed Difficulty is good but consistent preparation helps. Mains is held four times a year while JEE ADVANCED is held once a year.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Other colleges I applied for is IIT Delhi because it is nearer to my home and is well reputed college and have a great field in Tech.I opt this college because I am interested in Tech field. I finally chose IIT KGP beacuse it is providing me better branch than IIT Delhi and I got interested in this college beacuse my teacher in myh senior schoo is also from IIT KGP they taught me a lot of stories of there college time and I talked to some seniors of college for admissionb regarding prespective so they advised for IIT KGP.Therefore I chose IIT KGP over IIT Delhi.
