Course Curriculum Overview
Because the course is of interest it also gives job faculty : student nearly 1:10 mostly MTech, many are PHD and postdoc. the teaches good. some of them are not so good. moderate difficulty to pass exam. exams are regular and strict.
Internships Opportunities
many IT company offers internships from 2nd or 3rd year of BTech. many of them are provided with PPO or recommendation letters. for mechanical MN DASTUR offers iternship 6 months before joining selected candidates. Other internships are secured on individual off-campus. college provides NOC. Sometimes NOC is hard to get due to the hard attendance policy so students manage on their own.
Placement Experience
from 7th semester one can sit for placements. for mechanical L&T, WOOD, MN DASTUR, CESC, HPL, ADANI POWER, WPIL and many more highest package 12 LPA, average 6 LPA almost 70% get placement JOB from campus placement
Fees and Financial Aid
3000 per semester plus 1200 exam fee per semester. Fess are same during the course. SVMCM, OASIS and other private scholarships can be availed but only one. college also provides freeships to some based on some criteria
Campus Life
The annual fest's name is Espectro, organised in March each year. Teck Tricks is a tech fest. The library is big but the books are old. recent improvements are being done still it is not up to the level of a good private college library many sports programs including the annual sports week are held. football and cricket grounds are there but not well maintained.
Admission
Securing admission through lateral entry to BTech at KGEC was pivotal in my academic journey. The eligibility criteria demanded a diploma or science graduate degree, for mechanical BTech cut-off for general goes around 300. it is 2nd best government college in West Bengal. online application, pen-paper mode exam, online counselling and admission after physical document verification at college. As per govt of West Bengal norms many parts of admission could be done online. Still, people also find difficulty discovering the KGEC campus inside the huge Kalyani University campus.
