Remarks

Overall it is a good college with railway station nearby. Also there many more except studies to grow our brains. We enjoy each and every day though we arent living in hostel.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for all joint entrance exams and also for VIT and kiit exams. And then I was given jalpaiguri government engineering college and through decentralised counselling got admitted to kalyani government engineering college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I got EE engeneering in jalpaiguri and then department of ECE in kalyani government engineering college. So both are almost same with more job oppurtunities in electronics.

Internships Opportunities

No college just helps us with a NOC letter but no internships. We have to achieve internships on our own by mailing and sourcing high profile peoples.

Placement Experience

Well we have almost 60 to 70 percent placement every year it mostly software companies coming like TCS CTS SPCL capgemini and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities

We have five department with following fees structure. ECE and CSE has 6500 per semester EE and ME has 3500 per semester And IT has 12000 per semester.

Faculty

We have nice faculty or teaching staff. And we are ranked second among all government engineering colleges of west bengal.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Since I'm in first year so I don't got into my specialization that much , but from my knowledge we are getting knowledge about all domain in a portion which will help us in our future . Since I'm in first year so I didn't have my exams yet because of the late admission in college the reason for late admission was stay in admission by the Calcutta Highcourt due to some issues on reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-> CSE is the main stream because under this, other courses like Cybersecurity can be learned as extra courses, while still learning things that are very important like DSA and DAA. -> Everything is taught slightly fast and students have to keep up everyday. Even one class missed will be heavy on studying. -> The mic quality in some classes are bad and should be improved. It's impossible to understand what the teachers says when using them. -> Usually term exams start one month after the start of a semester, with the Semester exam being held 3 months later.

I have not yet reached the placement time because i am a fresher. But more than 1000 offers are made to students and placements are pretty good as i got to know from my seniors. The highest package from chemical branch was 75 lacs last year.

KGEC REVIEW

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University.
