You must pcm steam in class 12. You must have 60% in your higher secondary examination. You have clear wbjee examination . The college provides with hostel, canteen, play grounds. There are consideration for the reservation with seat.

Our civil department of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is one of the oldest department in our college. Faculty members of our department are expert in their respective field. I am passionate about the department so, I choose the department.

Placement Experience

After sixth semester you will get eligible for sitting in interview round for placement and and their are very big companies are coming like AMAZON, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT,Land T upto eighy five percentage students get selected

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a government college therefore, fee is very less as compared to other private colleges. I get Swami Vivekananda scholarship of amount rupees 60000 to meet my hostel expenditure. A student can apply other scholarship like Oasis etc.

Campus Life

The best and the biggest cultural fest in North Bengal is JECLET and this fest is only happen in JGEC and the annual tech fest is SRISTI and their are many active club are SPORTS CLUB, AZANTRIX, CALLIPHONY etc

Hostel Facilities

The best budget hostel in north Bengal is available in jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and the registration process is very simple and everyone will get this hostel and hostel you will get only two meals per day

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort. Best of luck for your college life.

Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College

According to my West Bengal joint entrance examination rank I said for the counselling in the first round I got Kalyani Government Engineering College with IT department but that was with the reservation under EWS quota with rank 2869. As I was not able to get me EWS certificate my admission there was cancelled and then according to my preference I got Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College with electronic and communication engineering department.
