Course Curriculum Overview
In this era of technology, Computer Science and Engineering have a great scope. This is the reason I choose CSE. Faculty to student ratio is also very good. The teachers are highly qualified and they explain every topic. They make sure that students have no doubt remaining. A semester is six months long and there are four mid-sem exams and one end-sem exam. If one follows the classes, he/she will easily pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities
Students can join the clubs as intern. Also Training and Placement Cell of our college brings many opportunities of internship for students. Also students can build their own innovative projects under the professors of our college.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus visits. Amazon, TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant are the mass recruiters. The highest package is 22 LPA and the average package is 5 LPA. Almost all the students get placed amongst those who opt for campus placement. Rest students including me opt for higher studies(MTech, MBA, MS, etc.).
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a total of eight semesters and fees per semester are six thousand rupees only. So it is highly affordable. And for meritorious students with low family income, the Government of West Bengal gives a scholarship named SVMCM scholarship.
Campus Life
In March every year, the Annual fest Espektro takes place. In the Central Library, good-quality books and journals on science, technology, mathematics, and engineering are available. Annual sports is the time when everyone tries to prove their fitness level. There are a total of 20 clubs run by students in our college.
Hostel Facilities
In each room, four students are accommodated. Each student is allotted a bed and a table. Students can access free Wi-Fi at any time. The meal contains Bengali dishes majorly and it is very tasty. Hostel fees are 13000 rupees per semester and one must apply in the form available on the college website to get a seat in the hostel.
Admission
If one wants to take admission to Kalyani Government Engineering College for B.Tech, the candidate must have qualified 10+2 in science(Subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and English) and have at least 60% marks in that. Next, he/she has to secure good marks in WBJEE. GMR 1000 will be enough to be selected for the CSE department of KGEC.
Other Applied Colleges
Jadavpur University - [JU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Mechanical Engineering)
The college is very good, but I actually prefer CSE over Mechanical Engineering.
International Institute of Information Technology - [IIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)
Fees was too high.
