KGEC AT A GLANCE

One has to get admission through a valid WBJEE scorecard. Don't worry if you don't get KGEC through main counseling, decentralised counseling took place every year (you have to check that on KGEC's official website). Reservation as per govt rule is applicable. Nowadays admission fees can be submitted in cash or in online mode.

Since I have a greater interest in physics, I choose Electrical Engineering. In EE, faculty: student is 1:4 and most of the teachers are highly qualified and some of them have engineering experience. As our college is under MAKAUT and semester questions are done by them, the questions are not that much tough if you know your syllabus.

Software companies: Full stack web developer, Software developer, UI developer, Android developer. Core companies: Intern trainee, Vocational training. Stipend: above 3000 per month. Provides good knowledge in the practical world.

From the 6th semester, students can sit for campus placement. Our mass recruiters are TCS, and Cognizant. Apart from these many other software companies come to our college. Some students also got placed in MNCs. In the core stream, L&T, Tata Power, wood, HCL, and BEL come to our college.

It is a government college so the fees are very minimal and apart from that college waives half/full tuition fees. One can also avail of scholarships from the WB government (like SVMCM, OASIS) or from private sectors (SIEMENS scholarship, ONGC scholarship, etc.) For more details about scholarships check the buddy4study website.

Our annual tech fest and hall days are held annually. There is a library but unfortunately, you can only get books according to your stream. All types of indoor games are there and outdoor games like football, cricket, and volleyball are played. There are various clubs in our college. Coding club, robotics club, automobile club, DSC, music club, literature club, sports club, etc.
