Remarks

I got myself admitted to KGEC through JELET. My general rank was 92 and in electrical it was 17. 60% in 10th and 12th is the minimum eligibility criteria. One needs to appear for JELET and then proceed with the further procedure as mentioned by their website. I did not avail any reservation. Being a Government institution provides enough exposure to the students already.

Course Curriculum Overview

Always wanted to be an Electrical Engg hence chose this course. The faculty and student ratio was 1:10. The course was divided into 2 semesters per year and 4 unit tests. The faculty were helpful and very cooperative.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 25000 per year

Placement Experience

KGEC offers almost 100 percent placement to its students. TCS, WIPRO, HUL, and Big 4 are a few of the companies that used to come to college for placements. I got passed out from KGEC in 2018 and TCS offered almost 165 offers to its students. The average starting package was almost 5LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

fees structure for my course was very affordable and hence no one actually needed any scholarship for fees still there were many scholarship programs available for helping the needy students with their needs. I got my job from my instituion itself and all my coursemates also got placed by the end of our course

Campus Life

Espektro is the annual fest of KGEC, it used to take place in the month of March. We have a huge library which offers books according to everyone's taste. Classrooms are pretty updated. Lots of clubs were there such as dance club, usic club, Ecell etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities were top notch. Meals used to be soooo yum and one was able to choose from a long menu what to eat, per meal cost was very affordable. Registration for a hostel depends on one's family's income source and their hometown's distance from the organization

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

KGEC REVIEW

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University.
