Remarks

The admission process is quite simple. For admission to any DU college, only one form has to be filled on the main DU website. After the declaration of cut-offs, you can apply to whichever college you can get according to your marks. The best four subjects' marks are counted. I applied to Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi School of Journalism, and Delhi School of Arts and Commerce along with Kamala Nehru College. However, the Delhi School of Journalism had an integrated 5-year course. Out of the other 3 colleges, I found Kamala Nehru College to be the most suitable for me. No age barrier or gap-year limitations were counted.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Journalism as I was interested in writing and photography. The faculty here is well-qualified and student-friendly. The teachers are very polite and helpful. Teaching method is mostly visual and practical based. Exams are very organized and timely.

Internships Opportunities

Through the Placement Cell of the College, I got 4 internships in my first year itself. V Skills - Govt. certified internship for content writing (Unpaid, 1 month). Grasp Media - Web Content Developer (Unpaid,2 months). Webnel - Content Writer (Unpaid, 1 month). That Amusing Girl - Content Writer (Unpaid, 1 month).

The college has an active placement cell that provides amazing placements. Internships are also made available to even 1st-year students. I had already done 4 internships in my 2nd semester. I plan to do my master's after the Bachelor's degree however if I get a good job I might take it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of studying at Kamala Nehru College is 18,700 rs per year for a Journalism course. It is quite affordable. Hostels are not available in the college. Various scholarships are provided by the college and also fees concessions for economically backward students are provided.

Campus Life

The Campus is wide and beautiful. The library is huge and well-equipped. The college is situated in a prime location in the city and the surrounding areas have all facilities available. The curriculum also includes various clubs and societies.

There is a placement cell in Hansraj College which does provides placements of highest package around 25 lakh of last year and being median package around 7 lakhs, but this for selective courses like economics and BCom Honours and computer science Honours & few of mathematics honours while rest of the courses required to have different kind of skill sets can also go for placement depending up on the role that the companies bring to be hired for

DTU is Totally Worth Spending Time At!

Placement Experience:

Campus placements have been good from what I have noticed this year. BBA and BAE students get almost the same packages and same companies hire the students. Average package for BAE students is 5.5 Lakhs and for BBA it's a little high at 6 lakhs or so.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Tale of a First Year

Placement Experience:

The college Offers campus placements which are mostly in the private sector. Students are eligible for Campus Placements after Completing the 4th semester or we say on completion second year. Many companies are brought on board By the placement cell of the college. In this list also Mkinsey, EY, KPMG, Which are some of the prominent rulers of their industries. The median package offered to UG was 6 lakhs per annum, Top 9 students were offered a median salary of 9,00,000 per annum. Around 490 were placed From campus placements of the college out of 1300 students eligible For the placements, These are only approximate figures and not exact. The highest package offered from the college is around 14,00,000 per annum. Talking about my plans after getting the degree is going for highest studies, Either Masters in economics or MBA in business economics.

KM COLLEGE - FILLED WITH COMPLAINTS ?

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

Placement Experience:

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus

KNC, DU honest review as someone from outside Delhi
