Remarks
I applied for B.A. (H) psychology in at Keshav Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi. The admission process for psychology honors in DU was based on merit. Every year, there are about 7-8 cut-offs list released. The registration form was filled online, after which it was offline based wherein we had to submit the documents to complete the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
Psychology has always interested me. I have always loved observing other people's behavior and reading about psychological disorders. There are about 6 semesters in this course. The first year consists of 4 subjects in each semester with 2 practicals. The second-year had 5 subjects with 2 practicals. Lastly, the last year had 4 subjects with 1 practical each for all the subjects. The exams were a bit tough but the course helped in learning a lot. The faculty was really good with excellent teachers. They had a different style of teaching which helped us gain insights on the topic.
Internships Opportunities
The internships did not provide any stipend. Rather, the students had to pay for doing an internship. Doing internships has helped me develop confidence personally and professionally in terms of gathering more information about psychology.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is quite affordable. For this course, it was 9000 per year. For graduates in psychology, there is no stipend provided for internships. Rather, you have to pay for doing an internship. You also do not get a job right after graduation. One has to do a master's in psychology to practice as a psychologist.
Campus Life
The campus life was okay but the college had various societies which helped students to gain confidence or have fun besides all the tensions of studying the course. My course also had a separate society for it which conducted various events, like doing workshops or having various renowned speakers to guide us for the future. During the fest seasons, various events were organized in the college which included fun activities, various food stalls and games.
