Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was quite relevant and precise. Specific pages from a variety of books were prescribed for every subject in every semester. We were studying the best content from best books of famous authors. We were not ristricted to Indian authors only. Being BSc students also, we were learning from engineering books and foreign authors. The exams were semester wise.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure was approximately Rs. 5500 per semester making it a total of Rs. 33,000 approximately for the entire course. Out of the Rs. 5500 semester fee, approximately half the amount was tuition fee and rest half was divided in different smaller categories like lab fees, library charges, development charges etc. Rest of my batchmates were also paying similar fees. No scholarships were available.

Campus Life

3

The college campus was newly built and was very good. Since it was an off campus college, not much social aspect or club involvement or political involvement was there. Major focus was on studies only. We used to have good fests though.

Admission

The reputation of the college was very good. The faculty and campus was very good. And I got the course that I wanted. These were the amjor factors that I chose this course. The admission process was the general process that every DU college used to follow then. We would have a cut off and then we would go for admission on first come first served basis if we are above that cut off.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio was generally 1 to 50 or 60 students. The faculty was very good and quite approachable. They were very helpful. Some of the best teachers were Ritu mam, Aparna mam, Bansal sir. Maths hons in general is a very difficult course, half the class failed in first semester but towards the end of course, the fail percentage decreased considerably.

Night Life

2

There was no nightlife because the area would go completely empty after 7-8pm. Since it is an off campus college, no nightlife was there. But it would be well lit and crowded on fest days otherwise nobody would be in or around college after 6-7pm.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.

the college has an active placement cell however we as science kids do not rely on it much as it is majorly commerce dominated. There isnt much placement or internship recognition for science kids but it is acitvely improving with more professionals gracing our college campus with new opporunities every now and then.
