Remarks

This is a government Institute and one of the top most engineering college in West bengal ( no 1 govt engineering Institute under MAKAUT). Admission was based upon rank on WBJEE exam. Seat allocation was through WBJEE website and admission through college website.

Course Curriculum Overview

Was interested in electrical engineering subjects. Faculty :student ratio was good. Highly qualified experienced faculties were there. Total 8 semester in 4 years. Syllabus was huge but not that tough. You just need to focus on your course.

Class Size: 80

Placement Experience

From 7 semester students become eligible for campus placement. TCS, WIPRO, IBM, ORACLE, DDT, sankalp semiconductor and many more comes for campus recruitment. Placement scenario is good. Students also placed jn Microsoft like company. Placed and join TCS.

College Events

Tech fest TECHTIX cultural fest EXOTICA combinedly known as ESPEKTRO held on March every year. Huge central Library is there. Common room(girls and boys seperate), gym room, table tennis are there. There are several clubs run by students like music club, dance club, art club, science club etc. Department wise football, cricket, table tennis, badminton tournament held every year

Fee Structure And Facilities

Stream wise fees depends. For electrical and mechanical 3000 per semester, electronics and computer 6000 per semester and for IT 12000 per semester. All govt scholarship was there. TWF facility was there

Hostel Facilities

Govt hostel with minimum charge 960 per year for accommodation. For meal monthly bill is approx 2000 which was run by students themselves. Wifi, gym, football, cricket, badminton, table tennis equipments etc.

Admission

No I didn't face any GD. Admission was based on WBJEE rank. No interview or exam during admission. They only show the rank. And jee exam was a mcq based exam in pen paper mode on maths physics and chemistry

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

placement is very good in this college many tech giants vist the campus such as google microsoft delloite apple tata steels, thhe average package is about 16 lpa highest is 80lpa approx 148 companes visted this year and total offer for cse is 157 out of 190

KGEC REVIEW

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University.
