Remarks
Since College of Vocational Studies comes under Delhi University, the entire admission process adheres to the will of the DU. The entire admission process solely depends upon one's merit for all the courses offered by the college. One special feature of this college is the variety and number of courses it offers. the college offers 7 vocational courses, 8 honours courses, two diploma and a non-collegiate weekend course. The college infrastructure is commendable however, I would not associate most of the non-teaching staff to be very friendly and you might end up tussling with them. The admission process is tedious so I would recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear. The college is close to two metro stations and is also near a bunch of malls and markets. Furthermore, the college has amazing social, academic and cultural societies and creates opportunities for exposure. the teaching staff is remarkable and is always up to help anybody. Also, the crowd is great.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because literature had always intrigued me. The English Department is extremely admirable and friendly and has great knowledge about what they are teaching and how they are teaching. The course was reintroduced in this college only three years ago so the admissions to this course are fairly less because of less knowledge about the existence of the course in "vocational" college. There are about 35 students in this course and the faculty: student ratio is 1:35. Most of the teachers hold a PhD and double PhDs and a few of them have even been toppers in their fields. We have two exams in one academic year i.e. semester-end exams, along with an internal examination.
Placement Experience
The college has an active placement cell which brings an abundance of job and internship opportunities for the students. Companies like EY, KPMG, Genpact, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. visit for placement drives.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since the Delhi University is a government body, the fee structure is quite nominal and there are usually no hikes in the fees.
Campus Life
The college has an annual fest named Tatva every year during the month of February or March. Apart from this, there are many societies that regularly conduct their personal events and fests once or twice a year. Sorry to disappoint the elitist, the classrooms are average and do not have high-class amenities. The college promotes physical health and well-being and hence conducts sports days every year. the college is situated in south Delhi and is close to a lot of markets, malls, and places to hang out.
