Remarks

The college on an overall is extremely amazing however the college does need to work a little on the infrastructure there are a lot of students and less space there always has been space crunch in the college premises and I also feel gargi should have an hostel of its own to provide accommodation to students who really cannot afford PGs because even if students who come from all across India to study in DU because of its subsidised education it really isn't a practical idea if they do not get subsidised accommodation at the same time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

B.com programme is an amazing cource if you are interested in it. It can be really fun plus the commerce department gives a lot of opportunities with various competitions placement drives extra curricular activities and also various workshops to explore. It's not just that there are various commerce marketing and economics fests that are held for fun and education. Many motivational and inspirational speakers are called up from time and time to help students with their career.

Placement Experience

3.5

Gargi has one the best placement and internship cell in all the DU colleges the internships are provided to students of all years in esteemed companies to help them understand the corporate nature and shape them well before actual job. However big companies like Google, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, PWC do recruit students from gargi each year.

College Events

5

Gargi witnesses one of the biggest crowds of Delhi in it's annual cultural fest which is called Reverie and is very famous for its competitions also the Diwali fest called Zistatva is always in big talks. There are also the departmental fests that offer huge prizes and rewards that attract a huge number of participants from all around.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a Delhi University college and a government enterprise the fee is extremely subsidised according to the facilities provided by the college it's extremely feasible it's around 9000 annually for bcom programme so a three year course of bcom costs you around 27000 which seems really worth looking at the facilities and exposure provided.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships and loans available to people of economically weaker students or the ones in need and the students can always apply for the same in college there is also a scholarship facility that refunds students their college tutorial fee.

Campus Life

2.5

Gargi is very well known for the extra carricular activities that it offers there are many societies made for all kinds of extra carricular activities or in every sphere that a child has talent and would like that to grow all societies provide platforms and opportunities to grow or work on individuals talent. Annually these societies also have their fests to portray how they have grown and evolved themselves in various activities.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel in DU is a problem cos there is a huge number of students and hostels provided are very few so most of the students opt for shared PGs or flats the average rent of a of in Delhi depends upon the area where you buy the pg like areas in South Delhi like greenpark saket etc could get a little expensive while areas like munirca neb saria etc also in South Delhi might seem like a little pocket friendly pg facility in average posh areas could on an average be around 7000 a month you can also reduce them if you live in shared flats the price depends totally on the facilities and the area.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the college does have an alumini group and aluminis are frequently called up to take part in various events of the college and help motivate juniors there Facebook pages groups Instagram groups of the college to keep alumis updates alse the college frequently sends Google forms to students to know how or what the students are doing are they even placed or pursuing studies further. The students looking for placements can also contact the placement cell even after graduating.

Admission

Gargi college just like all the colleges affiliated to Delhi University publishes a merit list for all undergraduate cources offered by it in the month of June with respective cutoffs for all categories. The admission for for DU has to be applied for previously by selecting all the possible cources one thinks one might be able to crack in the merit list. After which once the merit list is published you need to find out if the % of the cource matches yours. If it does then you go for the councelling in that college which gives u three days to get your documents verified. If in case your % does not match the merit list you case also wait for the next merit list to be published if your % is close enough the first list. DU however published around 6 or 7 merits list depending upon the availability of seats in the courses.

Faculty

4

The faculty is amazing and extremely helpful and also knowledgeable. It's a mixture of both very young teachers and very old and experienced teachers at the same time so that the younger teachers do not have as much of a age Gap with the students which most of the times is a perk for students to open up with them. While the experienced old teachers are extremely helpful and guideful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

Course curriculum is as per Delhi University's official curriculum, so it's pretty good. But its very theoretical as well so if I would suggest an improvement it would be this to make the curriculum more real and practical life based rather than rote learning.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
