Course Curriculum Overview
My course is B.A Honours Political Science. It offers widespread knowledge about governance, public policy and international relations. It prepares me for the real political world. My aspiration to be a civil servant aligns with my curriculum. The course offers research training, extremely important in my field to conduct research and publish papers.
Internships Opportunities
If i talk about my course, EY company offered the internship for Political consultancy. Many companies, NGOs and govt agencies offer research positions. The projects and outcomes varies depending upon the courses. Diverse recruiting companies are involved like Deloitte, Wipro, Accentures, etc.
Placement Experience
There's a very active placement cell in my college. They conduct placement drives, webinars and workshops. Both the jobs and internships are offered. The best package was of 2024 offering 23 Lpa and the average is around 6 Lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee for the general category is around Rs. 18,000. The total fee constitues for Rs. 54,000. There are no other such compulsory charges except for the departmental fee of Rs. 500. There are benefits for special categories and EWS. Scholarships are in place on the basis of merit.
Campus Life
There are around 20 societies in place offering wide opportunities ranging from literary to performing arts. The societies, departments and the college as a whole keep conducting events, creating a vibrant college life every day. The social networking is enhanced due to such events, as different colleges participate. The college also has it's annual cultural fest called "Reverie". Additionally, diverse festivals are celebrated in the college. The sports and extracurriculars are very much active.
Admission
I chose this college because of it's vibrant infrastructure, active societies, extra curriculum and academic excellence. To get into this college, there's a common entrance exam called CUET-UG. The cutoff varies around 850/1000. The CUET includes 4 tests, having 250 marks each. One is of Language and the remaining three are of the core subjects studied in 12th.
Faculty
The faculty members of our college have an outstanding academic background. They've done research, persued higher studies in esteemed universities like Jawaharlal Nehru University, worked with esteemed personalities. Their background and years of experience carry senior legacy. They create a supportive environment for the students. Familial bonds are created between the faculty and students. The course curriculum is largely relevant providing research training, comprehensive syllabus and skill development.
Night Life
The college closes at 6pm around. Although the students working in the Union stay in the college till night during events, the student leave the college by 6pm. Gargi is a morning college. The area around Gargi is quite safe, surrounded by reputed areas of South Delhi. There are very famous cafes and eatery places near college.
