Remarks
Cheap but good college in terms of academics, placement, infrastructure and facilities. Well equiped LAB and classrooms with projectors and sufficient number of PC. But the only bad thing is CORE placement but as this is a problem all over INDIA so it is not an issue.
Course Curriculum Overview
Electrical Engineering is one of the best engineering course. But the main problem is its placement is too low. GATE is not so easy now a days. Returning to the curriculum it is a 4 year course. Each year there will be 2 semesters and in each semester the will be assessment consisting of Class Test, assignment, project, quiz and so on. The first two years YGPA will be multiplied by 1 and for the rest by 1.5 and by putting it in formula we will get CGPA at the end of out course.
Placement Experience
Placement scenario is getting better day by day. But as i mentioned early core placement is not so good. But this year core has a better placement scenario than earlier. But so many IT companies visit our college like Cognizant, IBM, DDT, Kreeti Technology, Hexaware etc. And this is a premium Institute for TCS. Yes Our college provides Siemens Internship Program. And Summer training in large industries.
College Events
We generally celebrate each and every event in our college. From saraswati puja to holi to janmastami. We celebrate independence day, republic day, teachers day etc. We celebrate Biswakarma Puja in our mechanical department workshop.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is very low and easily affordable.For Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering it is 3480 for hostelers and 3000 for non-hosteler. For CSE and ECE it is 6480 for hostelers and 6000 for non-hosteler. For IT it is 12480 for hostelers and 12000 for non-hosteler.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a lot of scholarship mainly for minorities, SC/ST and also having TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) facility. Which is divided into two parts Full Freeship and Half Freeship based on family income. And also having Siemens Internship program.
Campus Life
We got sufficient fund every year from our college to buy sports equipment and great support from faculties. Departmental Sports Event, Inter hostel sports event happen in out college. On teachers day there is a football match named 'GURUKHETRA' between students and teachers. Labs are also well equiped.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, we have a very strong alumni network and we are working on make it stronger. They are really helpful the 'take mock call interviews inform us about any off-campus placement or internship opportunities. We get a very positive response in alumni meet from our beloved alumnis.
Admission
After 12 I had given WBJEE and secured a good rank in it. And then i filled preference list with college and department and then there was three round of counselling. After each counselling the college we got was displayed in the portal. And by applying for upgradation i got 2nd round of counselling. And in this manner i got chance in this college. But be careful while making the preference list because it will decide your department and college.
Faculty
As i mentioned above this is the 2nd best govt engineering college in West Bengal. So it is obvious to have great faculties with high theoretical and practical knowledge and has a P.hD degree in their respective subjects. And in out college as we have a very friendly environment among teachers and students.
