DTU B.Tech in Automotive Engineering seems to have a stronger placement record compared to Jadavpur University’s Information Technology program. Many students from DTU land internships and jobs at top tech firms like Microsoft and Google, with reported stipends averaging around 25k, while the highest package can go up to 60 LPA. On the other hand, Jadavpur University has a solid curriculum but may not attract as many big MNCs, especially in the tech sector. If you're leaning towards automotive engineering and want exposure to major industry players, DTU would be the better choice. But if you're more interested in IT and are okay with a potentially broader range of job options, Jadavpur University could still be a good fit.

I don't have much info on the placement scenario at DTU. However, at Jadavpur University, the overall placement for CSE and IT is extremely impressive.

  • Average package for CSE is over 20 LPA!
  • For IT, it's more than 16 LPA!
  • Highest package reached 39 LPA!

So, JU's placement stats are quite strong!

DTU's B.Tech in Automotive Engineering offers a solid placement pipeline with high-paying companies like Microsoft and Google, along with a vibrant campus life, but the fees increase each year, reaching around 2.49 lakhs by the final year. Jadavpur University's Information Technology program, while lacking some of the high-profile tech placements, generally has lower fees and a strong academic reputation, making it a smart financial choice for students looking for value. In terms of ROI, DTU might appeal more to those prioritizing big tech placements despite the higher costs, whereas Jadavpur could be better for students seeking a more economical option without compromising on quality education. Overall, if you are aiming for high-paying jobs in tech and can handle the fees, DTU is your best bet; for a more budget-friendly yet reputable option, Jadavpur University is ideal.

I've looked into both DTU's B.Tech in Automotive Engineering and Jadavpur University's Information Technology program, and here's what I think. DTU offers a solid curriculum focused on automotive design, with good campus life and a strong presence of tech giants like Microsoft and Google for placements, although recent stats show a dip due to external factors. Jadavpur University, while it may not have the same automotive focus, boasts a strong IT reputation and vibrant campus culture, with decent placement opportunities, especially in tech areas. Overall, if you're passionate about automotive engineering and want a government college experience with high placement potential, DTU would be the better pick. But if you're leaning towards a thriving IT environment with a rich academic culture, Jadavpur University is a fantastic choice.
