Like in case of my college completes our BE in 10K for 4 years.Regarding the fees structure we pay the first four semester fees together in one installment that is rupees 5710 and in fifth semester we have to pay our remaining fees that is 5000 for the other four semesters.And there are plenty of scholarships available for students like SVCM,Freeship.

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I appreciated the importance of education that Jadavpur University always emphasized upon. The faculty and the teaching, the courses have helped me practice my research skills.

Dislikes

The syllabus for Comparative Literature could use some changes, with respect to including newer aspects of literature, moving away from few of the classically foregrounded courseworks.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Jadavpur University's fee structure, yearly for MA Comparative Literature, is INR 980. At the time of registration and admission, we had to pay INR 1250, which included registration fees, library fees, maintenance fees and overall tuition fees. Over the duration of the course, we did not have to essentially pay any amount, given that the university encourages almost minimal expenditure on education and upholds its values of providing almost free education. It is established that decent scholarships for underprivileged students and students from diverse marginalised backgrounds. It emphasised equal access to education; therefore, students in categories such as disabled and multiple reservation categories can opt for scholarships based on their merit. These scholarships range from partial to fully funded, but are only based on merit with regard to entrance exam scores. The Government Scholarships provided by the West Bengal Government are one such renowned scholarship, availed by students from the reservation categories. Students often avail Financial Need-Based scholarships as well, which mostly exempts their tuition fees.

my department is INSTRUMENTATION and ELECTRONICS Engineering. the total fees for four year is 10420. at the time of admission we had to pay the fees for first 2 years only and the rest fees should be submitted after 2nd year completion. The detailed fees structure is above: Tution : 1800 Admission Fees: 100 Registration: 25 Librarry Deposit: 50 Sports: 100 Lab / workshop fees: 3000 session charges:100 caution deposit: 25 health card: 10 the sum of all this is 5210. the same will be applied for the rest 2 years (3rd and 4th year). but for IT and CSE the fees structure is different . the total amount for 4 year is approx 30000 rs.

Any college can be good for competitive programming. It all relies on you to educate yourself, to learn new strategies, and to spend hours coding.

Anudeep Nekkanti is one such example. He was recruited by Google and qualified for ACM ICPC world finals. If you look at the name of his college, it's not one of those elite ones.
There was no competitive programming pattern in BESU/IIEST until recently. But many students have taken competitive programming platforms such as Codechef and HackerRank over the last few years.
You can search the Codechef Rating System site to verify it for yourself. You get a college-wise database of the number of students actively engaged in competitive coding and their results using this platform.

Lastly, don't support the myth that the only way to prove yourself as a coder is competitive programming. There are other coding fields as well. In this sense, do not consider that there was no "real coder" in IIEST because there was no competitive coding pattern previously in IIEST (BESU back then).

Some of the alumni of the institute are working in top companies in India and overseas and have never been interested in competitive coding.
