Any college can be good for competitive programming. It all relies on you to educate yourself, to learn new strategies, and to spend hours coding. Anudeep Nekkanti is one such example. He was recruited by Google and qualified for ACM ICPC world finals. If you look at the name of his college, it's not one of those elite ones. There was no competitive programming pattern in BESU/IIEST until recently. But many students have taken competitive programming platforms such as Codechef and HackerRank over the last few years. You can search the Codechef Rating System site to verify it for yourself. You get a college-wise database of the number of students actively engaged in competitive coding and their results using this platform. Lastly, don't support the myth that the only way to prove yourself as a coder is competitive programming. There are other coding fields as well. In this sense, do not consider that there was no "real coder" in IIEST because there was no competitive coding pattern previously in IIEST (BESU back then). Some of the alumni of the institute are working in top companies in India and overseas and have never been interested in competitive coding.

JD. Birla is a renowned college in Kolkata, West Bengal. It offers a variety of courses. The course I studied was BSc Honours in Human Development. It was divided in 6 semesters. The joining fees was somewhere around 98 thousand. Every semester we had to pay around 65 thousand(inr). The fees was similar for all my batchmates from any category. Scholarship is mostly merit-based.

The year wise fees is approax 1600 total including exam fees,caution money and all. There is similar fees strucure for all the categories. Students can apply for INSPIRE Fellowhip programme which gives you 60000 per year. There is a certain perecentage released every year mentioned in the website. One can also apply for Swami Vivekananda scholarship which gives you 18k per year.

Jadavpur University BSc Physics Review

The course curriculum level is much higher. The syllabus of my course is mainly research oriented. So if anyone is aiming to do research in future, the syllabus and the course curriculum will help him a lot.

The total cost of fees of the course, BSc in physics is 4,960/-. Here, the tution fees generally doesn't increase, it's a very rare case. There are many scholarships or financial aids are available for the students. One of the name of this type of scholarships is Jadavpur University aluminium Association scholarship. There is also some campus employment.

The course is too much affordable. We only have to pay 75 rupees for per semester. Rather than this we just have to pay around 1500 rupees per annum. So I think in comparison to other courses it's supper affordable.

The tuition fee is very less in this course (only 900 rupees) which is affordable for every student..The complete cost of our education is 3000, where tuition fees are 900, service fees are 100, admission fees 500, lab fees - 800 , library deposit- 100, and other charges - 600. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, National Scholarship, K3 are available. Instead of this our university has provided an alluminy scholarship( 20000 per year)

More importantly, the course fee is negligible. Its approximately 1900 per year. And for every semester examination, you have to pay approx 150 per semester. There are also facilities for applying half or full freeship in course if the income criteria is fulfilled. Students can also apply for any scholarships from the university.
