There was no competitive programming pattern in BESU/IIEST until recently. But many students have taken competitive programming platforms such as Codechef and HackerRank over the last few years. You get a college-wise database of the number of students actively engaged in competitive coding and their results using this platform. Lastly, don't support the myth that the only way to prove yourself as a coder is competitive programming. There are other coding fields as well. In this sense, do not consider that there was no "real coder" in IIEST because there was no competitive coding pattern previously in IIEST (BESU back then). Some of the alumni of the institute are working in top companies in India and overseas and have never been interested in competitive coding.

This is tenzing Choeying Bhutia and here I'll be giving some details about my college fee structure plus scholarship details. When I got in jadavpur..firstly I had to pay only 1350/- as my admission fees and after that I don't even remember doing any extra payment in a year so basically it's zero cost,just during semester exams you need to pay around 150/- as exam fees...and as for scholarships, they provide svmsm,kanyashree etc for the minorities and also alumini scholarship for those who have low income. The fee structure remains the same for all the categories(st sc OBC general)

Jadavpur university, an overview of the Economics department

The course is very affordable. The first year fees is Rs. 1235( tuition: 900, admission 100, library deposit 50, sports 100, session charges 50, registration 25, health card 20). For the next two years, the fees are Rs. 950 per year including only tuition and session charges. Government scholarships available. Fee structure is same for all students.

During admission the total fee taken was merely ?1235, including tuition fee, library deposit, admission fee etc. The yearly cost which is the session charge (?50) and the tuition fee (?900) comes to a total of only ?950.

JU in a nutshell

Last year I had paid 950/- which includes all kinds of fees. I do not know that of reservations'. Scholarship opportunities are rare, only the ones offered by the state govt and some other foreign universities like Rhodes scholarship (which is the only one I've heard so far) are announced for application

Jadavpur University: A Kaleidoscope of Reality

The year wise fees was taken during the admission, an amount of Rs 1235/-. There was a number of sub categories, such as, tution fees of R 900/-, admission fees of Rs 100/-, Registration fees Rs 25/-, library deposit Rs 50/-, sports fees of Rs 100/-, session charges Rs 50/-, health card of Rs 10/-. There was no charge taken for lab session and for caution deposit. There were no other hidden charges either. The fees remains the same for other categories. There are some scholarships available like the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship, it goes upto Rs 60,000/- per year deoending on the financial conditions of the recipient. The scholarships and reduced fees for certain categories help the students a lot in pursuing their studies.

Campus life in JU

The tuition fee along with the admission for the first year is 1250 which is very affordable compare to other universities and the increase policy is not there maybe in the future. The hostel fees depending on the hostel and food charges and 1400-1800 per month. Which is also affordable for quite a lavish twice a meal. The total cost of hostel along with the yearly fees comes 20,000 approx. (including exam fees of 45) Many scholarships are available for backward students and get the money refunded, the swami Vivekananda scholarship and various scholarships are available. Campus employment is not so effective for the arts faculty.

What its like in Jadavpur university

You can apply for scholarship if you have an economically weak background. The course fee is 1250 for 1 year, given the facilities this is a cheap compared to other colleges. The placement is a bit tricky in Arts as people are here aiming for higher education and getting into academia.

The Dream of JU

The fees are very less and around 2000/year. Full and half free scholarships are available for the people who need them. Apart from that scholarships like JU SLYFF etc are available which can help with other costs.

You can apply for admission in the B.Ed program of Jadavpur University if you have scored at least 50% marks in your bachelor’s degree. Admission is based on academic merit and personal interview.
