Both DTU for B.Tech Engineering Physics and Jadavpur University for BE Computer Science and Engineering are solid choices, but they cater to different interests and career paths. DTU has an impressive campus life with a strong focus on practical applications in its curriculum, especially in VLSI and digital electronics, and boasts excellent placement records with companies like Google and Microsoft. In contrast, Jadavpur University has a renowned reputation in computer science, particularly for its research opportunities and strong alumni network, which can be beneficial for tech careers. Personally, I’d lean towards DTU if you value a vibrant campus life and diverse opportunities in engineering physics, but if you're more inclined towards a traditional engineering curriculum with a focus on computer science, Jadavpur would be the better bet. Ultimately, it depends on whether you prefer a dynamic environment or a strong academic foundation in tech.

In terms of placements and job prospects, Jadavpur University’s BE in Computer Science and Engineering seems to edge out DTU's B.Tech in Engineering Physics. Jadavpur has a solid reputation for tech placements, with many top companies actively recruiting there, while DTU also has impressive placement stats, especially with high packages like 1.7 crore per annum, but the average is lower at 16 lakh. Internships at DTU are plentiful and well-paying, but Jadavpur’s strong industry connections in computer science may offer even better long-term opportunities. If you're keen on core engineering and tech roles, Jadavpur could be your best bet, while DTU is great if you're interested in a blend of physics and electronics with a vibrant campus life.

I would recommend Jadavpur University (JU). Here’s why:

  • JU has one of the oldest and most respected Computer Science and Engineering departments in the country.
  • The faculty is excellent, providing strong guidance and support.
  • There are outstanding research facilities available.
  • JU is well-positioned for both industry entry and academic pursuits.

All the best!

I’m not really familiar with the placement scenario at DTU. However, at Jadavpur University (JU), the overall placement for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is extremely good.

  • Average package for CSE is over 20 LPA.
  • In comparison, the average for Engineering Physics at DTU is more than 16 LPA.
  • The highest package at JU has reached 39 LPA!

So, if placements are a major factor for you, JU's CSE program seems to have the edge!
