I’m not very familiar with the placement scenario at DTU. However, at Jadavpur University (JU), the overall placement for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is extremely impressive.

  • Average package for CSE is over 20 LPA.
  • At DTU, it’s around 16 LPA.
  • The highest package at JU is 39 LPA.

So, if placements are a priority for you, JU seems like a strong choice!

I’ve looked into both DTU and Jadavpur University, and honestly, it feels like a tough choice. DTU offers a vibrant campus life with numerous festivals and societies, plus strong placement opportunities with companies like Google and Flipkart, which is a big plus. However, the faculty seems to be just average, and the class sizes are quite large. On the flip side, Jadavpur University has well-experienced faculty and a focus on practical learning, which can really enhance your understanding of the subject. While both colleges have similar fee structures, Jadavpur might provide a more personalized learning experience due to smaller class sizes. Personally, I’d lean towards Jadavpur University for its strong faculty and practical approach if you value a hands-on education, but if placements and a lively campus are your priority, DTU could be the way to go.

I would recommend Jadavpur University (JU). Here’s why:

  • JU has one of the oldest Computer Science and Engineering departments in the country.
  • The faculty is excellent, providing strong guidance and support.
  • There are outstanding research facilities available.
  • JU is well-positioned for both industry placements and academic pursuits.

Overall, JU offers great opportunities! All the best!

For B.Tech Computer Engineering in DTU, the fees are around 2.3 lakhs per year, and the placement stats are impressive with an average package of 15 LPA and a high placement rate of 98%. Jadavpur University's BE Computer Science and Engineering also has a similar fee structure, but I’ve heard the faculty and curriculum are more hands-on and better suited for practical learning. While DTU offers great placement opportunities, Jadavpur seems to provide better value for money with its solid teaching and more engaging campus life. If you're aiming for high placements and can handle a slightly tougher faculty experience, go for DTU; otherwise, Jadavpur might be the smarter choice for a more rounded education.

Both DTU and Jadavpur University offer solid prospects, but DTU has a slight edge in placements and higher package offerings. With an impressive placement rate of around 98% and top companies like Google and Flipkart visiting, DTU's highest package last year was a staggering 82 LPA, while Jadavpur's details are less clear but suggest a strong foundation. Additionally, DTU’s vibrant campus life and supportive environment for practical learning align well with tech aspirations. If you’re aiming for top-tier placement opportunities, DTU may be the better choice, but if you prefer a strong theoretical foundation with good faculty, Jadavpur is also a great pick.
