If you’re certain about pursuing a master’s in a Mathematics-related field, go for IIIT Delhi. If you’re unsure, then DTU is a solid choice. Here’s why:
Choose based on your confidence in your future path!
Both DTU's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and IIIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science and Design have their perks, but when it comes to fees and ROI, DTU seems like a smarter choice. With around 10 lakh for the full course, it offers solid internship opportunities with companies like Google and Microsoft, and the highest package from 2025 was 1.25 crore. IIIT Delhi has a similar fee structure but is slightly more competitive in terms of placements, especially for those with a high CGPA. However, if you’re looking for a balance between cost, internship exposure, and placement potential, DTU might give you more bang for your buck. If you’re passionate about design and can handle the pressure, IIIT Delhi could be the way to go. Otherwise, DTU is a strong option for future job prospects.
Thank you for the !
So, why should you choose B.Tech Mathematics and Computing (MCU) in DTU over B.Tech Computer Science and Design (CSSS) or Computer Science and Business (CSB) in IIIT Delhi?
Now, why should you opt for IIITD over DTU?
So, those are the pros of both colleges, and this is purely my personal opinion. Best of luck!
EDIT: After reading other answers, I realized I didn’t address the Mathematics vs. SS/CB aspect. In my view, your decision should ultimately reflect your interests.
I would recommend B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing at DTU.
The primary reason is that many companies may not allow students from CS and Social Sciences or CS and Biosciences to sit for internships and placements alongside CS students. However, this is rarely the case for Mathematics and Computing students. Almost all companies will permit you to sit for internship and placement tests with CS students if you are in Mathematics and Computing. (This is not to say that CS and Social Sciences or CS and Biosciences at IIIT-D are poor options for internships or placements. But based on available information, Mathematics and Computing at DTU seems to have an edge.)
Secondly, Mathematics is directly related to Computer Science, while Social Sciences and Biosciences are not. If you have a strong interest in Biosciences or Social Sciences and wish to explore them or dive deep into research, then those branches could be a good fit. However, in my opinion, B.Tech is too early to specialize, as it’s tough to be certain about your interests before even starting college. Thus, it is better to keep your options open!
Both DTU's B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing and IIIT Delhi's B.Tech in Computer Science and Design have solid placements, but IIIT Delhi seems to have the edge. At DTU, students have opportunities with big companies like Google and Microsoft, and internships offer good stipends averaging around 30k, but placements start only in the 4th year. IIIT Delhi, on the other hand, provides a more focused path with companies like Adobe offering lucrative internships, and the process emphasizes strong CGPA and DSA skills, leading to better job prospects. If you're inclined towards a more traditional tech role, DTU might be a good fit, but if you're leaning towards innovative design and a potentially higher salary post-internship, IIIT Delhi is the way to go.
