LPU's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering offers a decent scholarship system and a sprawling campus, but historically, the placement opportunities for mechanical branches are limited compared to the tech-heavy placements for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at UPES. While LPU's fees are around ?69,000 per semester, UPES also provides good scholarship options, although I found their campus employment opportunities lacking. Given the current tech-driven job market, UPES seems like the smarter financial choice for a better return on investment, especially if you're inclined towards computer science. If you’re passionate about mechanical engineering and don’t mind a tougher job market, LPU could still be a viable option.

Hello there! LPU has received positive feedback regarding its teaching quality, innovative labs, extracurricular activities, placement opportunities, rankings, and events like MOOCs and hackathons for STEM students. LPU holds the highest NAAC grade, A+, with a score of 3.68 out of 4, as per the Ministry of Education, Government of India. According to NIRF rankings, LPU is ranked 38th among all government and private universities in India and 50th in engineering. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) for admission in B.Tech requires students to pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics, and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST, CUET, or JEE Mains. The significance of Computer Science cannot be overstated in today's world. This branch of engineering has evolved dramatically and offers numerous career prospects. To keep pace with this dynamic field, the Computer Science department is equally talented and skilled. Besides being proficient in the latest technologies, the department focuses on enhancing students' technical expertise by organizing timely workshops and guest lectures.

LPU's B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering tends to have a decent curriculum and strong faculty, but the placement opportunities for mechanical branches are not as frequent or robust compared to computer science. On the other hand, UPES offers a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering which generally has better placement rates and attracts more companies, especially in tech-driven sectors. While both colleges provide scholarships, LPU’s campus facilities are impressive, but in terms of job prospects, UPES edges ahead due to its focus on industry-relevant skills and higher demand in the tech field. If you’re leaning towards a stable job and higher salary potential post-graduation, I'd recommend going for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at UPES.

UPES is a better choice than LPU. LPU has an overwhelming number of students in CSE. This academic year, they have over 6000 admissions in CSE alone. Managing such a large crowd is a challenge. It's hard to see how all these students will secure placements. The study culture at LPU isn't great. There's almost no interaction with seniors. If you're aiming for good placement opportunities, go for UPES. With so many students, getting placed at LPU will be extremely difficult.

LPU is a significantly better choice for mechanical engineering compared to UPES. Here’s why: LPU is often in the spotlight due to its numerous achievements. The university has garnered attention both nationally and internationally, enhancing its global presence. With over 30,000 students from all corners of India and 70+ countries, studying here offers a dynamic experience. Some notable accomplishments from the School of Mechanical Engineering include: LPU students have triumphed in car design competitions in China and Noida., A team of engineering students secured the ‘Level One Position’ at the Delta Automation Contest-2017 in China, competing against 75 teams from across Asia., Mechanical Engineering students designed a futuristic Formula One Racing Car at ‘SAEINDIA 2017’ in Noida., and India’s first-ever self-driving, solar-powered bus made its debut at the Indian Science Congress, designed and built by a team of students.. These achievements highlight the strong practical exposure and innovative spirit at LPU!
