Upes University Dehradun is arguably the best university and fees is 5 lakhs a year for academics and it was 3 and a half in 2022 when i joined. So yes a steep rise in the fees but its fine as now i have finished paying fees. Besides academics hostel charges were 1.8 lakhs every year and an examination fees of 6000 per semester.

UPES is a top top university of UK and the fees in all dimension may by high but still manageable. As the fees is around 5 lakhs a year and because I have taken hostels too, so I have to pay another 1.8 lakhs. So close to 30 lakhs is what I have paid to get the CSE degree from UPES and it was totally worth it.

Also, there are many universities which may charge less than UPES but our university is our of the world. UPES is a class private university and our fees is also 5 lakhs a year which most private universities charge for CSE. A slight high then others but as they say Might is Right and for the kind of things we have at our campus, the fees is fully right. Hostel fees is 1.8 lakhs a year and that is a little high because food is little less than expected at the price that they charge.

Fees may be called abysmal by many as it's 5 lakhs a year and then since I am not from Dehradun, I have also taken hostels of the university and that cost me 1.75 lakhs another. So, fees add upto 6.75 lakhs. And it has increased a bit since I have joined but still I feel it's a little heavy and therefore not many can afford it as well.

It's not about the fees as UPES fees is definitely high because it's the largest private university in Uttarakhand. Our fees for CSE is 500000 and since I have also taken hostel services I pay around 1.8 lakhs for it. So nearly 7 lakhs a year and other charges and all will make it a total cost of 30 lakhs for engineering from UPES.

UPEas school of Computer Engineering under which CSE program is run is the one that we are enrolled at UPES. It's the most expensive engineering here as the fees is 5 lakhs per year. It has stayed stagnant since 2024 but when i joined in 2022, it was 3.8 lakhs. The hostel fees has also increased from 1.4 lakhs a year in 2022 to 1.8 lakhs in 2026.

UPES is one of the most modern university and has produced time and again that it will not come down to other universities. The fees are therefore quite high as it's 5 lakhs a year for engineering and 1.5 lakhs or so for the hostels which is slightly unreasonable as well. Better than PGs though as atleast we have full security since hostels are inside the premises.
