UPES is Uttarakhand Best Private University!

Likes

Improved labs certainly helped as in 2022, pabs needed an upgradation and in 2023 university did it.
Even sports facilities were added as earlier there were just 2 badminton court but now there are 6.
Upes University placement deck has ensured that every students irrespective of their CGPA is made to sit for the interviews.

Dislikes

Uniform dont hage much variety like GEU as we have to wear the same uniform daily.

I gave one and only one entrance and that is UPESAT. Now the entrance was tough the only good thing was that competition wasnt that tight. I was among the top 200 rankers and thus i got the admission here through UPESAT. For management and even Law programs, UPES have made entrance mandatory for applying.

Likes

UPES University has the best aura as doesnt just quality campus but quality faculties too are available here.
Our university is in Prem Nagar and that makes everything in Dehradun accessible to us easily.
We have the best placements effectively with over 200 names in IT space comes and recruit students from here every year.

Dislikes

Airport and Railway Station of Dehradun are quite far and it takes 400-600 to travel there.

Admission:

No safety nets for getting admission in UPES as university is strict in taking students. UPES Engineering Admission Test also known as UPESAT has to be cleared. If not then in top 20k JEE ranks your name has to be there regardless. So those are the only ways to get admission especially in CSE at the UPES University.

Likes

Best in all aspects such as location, infrastructure and studies.
Students of UPES are now at top post in many top companies.
Also many startup ideas of our university students have recieved funding too.

I applied at GECET of Graphic Era and gave other entrances too. Apart from JEE, I cleared almost all and only one left was that. So, UPESAT I was among the top 500 and therefore I got the branch of my choice too. So, I am happy that our university is very easy to get admission done because it didn't took me more than a day for the same.

UPES has the best facilities!

Likes

Likeable university by almost all and NIRF too has placed our university in top 50 universities in India.
With a placement percentage for our branch of 80% it's one of the highest among private entities.
Faculties are too strong and always communicate the syllabus the best.

Dislikes

Hostels aren't that tidy as the university as students keep creating chaos always.

Assessment test is there but that's not the only way of getting here. There are other ways too and students can go that way like on 12th score or sports quota because there are over 1000 new admission done every year. UPES was the lone place I tried and I got admission too.

UPES is above the rest!

Likes

Placements of UPES are so positive and better in all aspects that we have to look nowhere for placements.
Even faculties are quite supportive at our university that if we ask them for free or extra lecture they give us without asking twice.

Dislikes

I didn't liked students of other branches as they use our facilities without permission.

UPESAT is for engineering and likewise most courses here are through a test procedure. I was rejected by definitely the dream colleges like the IITS, BITS and NITs too. Manipal is where I had admission but it was too far and so I chose UPES as it's atleast a night drive from my home.

UPES has best sports access!

Our syllabus is fully industry aligned and that's what makes them the best out of all.
Our a academics are strong vocational and loud to clear all pathways.
Campus has all the modern facilities in labs, hostels and ofcourse the security.

Dislikes

Very far from Dehradun Railway Station and for outsiders like us it's very difficult to reach there in odd hours.

Admission are through an entrance for engineering which is called UPESAT. The best thing is the paper can be given anytime as it's online and if students want they can directly come to the university and then give that exam. So, it's a good thing that we are doing a proper assessment before getting in here.

UPES University is a novelty!

Likes

Upes as a whole is whole is adorable place because of the quality of ambiance.
Upes crowd is mostly middle upper class people as otherwise one can't afford UPES.
Not just law but even management and law college of UPES are top class.

Dislikes

Our CSE department may have its own Computer of Engineering Building but our labs are still in different building.

Admission even though it's a private university and has nearly 1200 students but all have come after clearing UPESAT. As university has made compulsory to sit students for that. Even other courses too have their set entrance at UPES Dehradun.

UPES Dehradun is scenic!

Likes

Very nice and tidy uniform which we ourselves love wearing.
VLSI lab is the biggest lab in the campus and I am glad I am having access of it.

Dislikes

Very far from the main commuting or railway station and airport of Dehradun.

Admission in Engineering is through UPESAT and likewise all course have their own entrance apart from normal graduation science, arts, and commerce courses. I didn't get any rejection as UPES was the only university I tried for and luckily I got admission. I did had some backup plans though but I got here and so my plan A clicked.

UPES is modern day university!

Likes

Modern example of University is our DTU as it's as modern as any western university.
Our engineering syllabus has leaves of Korean Universities as we have taken some mettle from there.
Our placements are better than most and that is why we are onf the top 50 universities in India.

Dislikes

Too many departments of CSE and it becomes difficult to choose one.

UPESAT and also JEE Main Scores are taken into account to get admission here. Students coming through UPESAT gets some discount whole students who are coming through other assessment test doesn't qualify for the scholarships but admission if they stand on university criteria are given admission.

UPES University has a universal charm!

Likes

I think our labs and location both are stupendous.
Food joints outside the university like the Indrani Cafe and others are marvelous.
Also our faculties supports students for participating in college events.

Dislikes

Daily uniform looks a tiring job as we are not allowed in civil uniform inside the campus.

For Engineering students have to appear for UPESAT and likewise for law students the entrance is ULSAT, for management students it's UPESMAT. So aptitude test for likewise almost all the special courses and admission in B.Com, BSc and BA are done without entrance. Those students are provided admission depending upon their 12th score.
