UPES, Dehradun scholarships are offered only for the first academic year; however, selected scholarships may be continued in the second year.

UPES Dehradun Academic Scholarship

University of Petroleum and Energy Research offers two types of merit scholarships to eligible students upon admission. These scholarships are applicable only during the first year and cannot be renewed. 3,000 merit-based scholarships are awarded to the eligible students.

UPES Dehradun Board Merit Scholarship

UPES Dehradun National Level Exam Scholarship

UPES provides scholarships to the students admitted to UG courses through national entrance exams like JEE Main/ CUET or CLAT. CLAT-based scholarship is applicable only for the 5-year L.L.B. The slabs of scholarships are given below:

UPES Dehradun Fellowships

UPES also provides research grants and fellowships to the eligible students of M.Des and M.Tech courses. To be eligible for the same, the students must:

  • Maintain a minimum CGPA of 8.5 and a minimum attendance of 75% in each semester.
  • Passed every semester without any supplementary
  • Have no disciplinary action initiated against him/ her
  • Students already receiving a fellowship/ scholarship/ fee waiver from any other source are not eligible for this fellowship.

Vijay Scholarship is awarded to those students of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun who have represented their state or country at the national or international level in sports. The following scholarships are granted to deserving students:

If any student initially admitted to a regular program at UPES, Dehradun shifts to the Global Pathway Program, or vice versa, and is eligible for any scholarship, the scholarship awarded at the time of admission will be reversed, and the change of program will only be permitted post submission of the scholarship amount awarded at the time of admission.

In case he/ she converts the program into a regular one after admission, he/ she will not be eligible for board-merit scholarship.

Ques. When should I apply for a scholarship at UPES?

Ans. Students wishing to avail scholarships offered by UPES shall apply at the time of admission, before completion of student registration. They have to submit all requisite documents before registration. No scholarships will be granted after the registration has been completed.

Ques. If any student of UPES fails to meet the CGPA and backlog criteria for a semester, can the academic performance scholarship be renewed in the upcoming semesters?

Ans. If any student is unable to secure an 8.5 CGPA or has an active backlog in a semester, the academic performance scholarship is discontinued for that particular semester.
