Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission 2025 is open for B.Des and M.Des. Students who fail to qualify for the SEED / Entrance Exam with a valid score, will not be considered for Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission. Given below is the admission process for Symbiosis Institute of Design.
- Visit the official website of the institute https://www.sid.edu.in/.
- Choose the respective “Registration Form” tab under the announcements section, on the middle left of the home page.
- Click on Register for new user registration.
- Fill out the registration form and make payment for the successful submission of the application.
- Appear for SEED, as per the notified dates.
- Once a candidate qualifies for SEED with a valid score, he or she will appear for the SID’s Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.
- The student has to upload the portfolio one day before the PRPI round.
- Students will be given three days to perform the PRPI task, and the candidate has to upload the task one day before the PRPI round.
Important Note: Symbiosis Institute of Design B.Des final admission will be based on the performance in the SEED, PRPI Task, Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction. I was mainly confused between MIT pune and Symbiosis. And I got into both so i myself went to both the colleges to judge and come to a conclusion. Symbiosis might not have a huge campus like MIT but the quality of teaching, the faculy and the overall placements at Symbi are higher
Admission:
I chose this college over other colleges because of the Symbiosis connections to alumni and faculty who have connections to professionals in the business sand tech sector. Pune is also a city that encourages youth and creativity which gives designers the opportunity to display work with confidence. Symbiosis also has many other colleges so the intra college elective programs in which we can learn subjects such as economic and marketing as our elective subjects and external faculties from other symbiosis institutes are assigned to teach.
Admission:
• I had applied for NID, IIT IDC, MIT ADT, BITS, KIIT and NATA as well. I got accepted in all the pvt colleges I applied to except the govt colleges(NID & UCEED). I chose SID because of it's course structure and renowned reputation. • I couldn't make it to NID because I got AIR 258 and there are only 45 seats all over India for general students and I couldn't get IIT due to the reservation system :( • To get into SID, first you need to pass the SEED entrance exam which is of 60 marks and I had scored 43. Then after passing that you have to submit your Portfolio and prepare for a PRPI task and personal interview. After that there are 3 merit lists and you'll secure a seat there if you pass all the three.

I applied for (UID)-United world of design (got into it, but firstly the crowd over there is too much and too hi-fi no internships or placement till date and too expensive in all aspects and not being worthy for that expense.) (NID)- National Institute of design (didn't got into as the first round itself i didn't clear) (NIFT)- National Institute of fashion technology (got into but i was much into product design than fashion or anything) For getting into SID eligibility is 10+2 in any stream, SID conducts it's own entrance examination called (SEED) and doesn't accepts any other. There are 3 rounds of this examination everything is in online mode first round is of 60 marks for 60 mins only MCQS all related to design, critical thinking, logical reasoning and general aptitude. If got selected in 1st round so in 2nd round you have to submit your portfolio and the task which they give you through mail after that there is an interview (student friendly) all the process is very handy and easy

The admission process was fairly simple. There are 3 rounds, the SEED test for which you can apply on the website, and then a studio test and interview. You get called on-campus for the last 2 rounds if you make it past the first.

The admission process itself was quite easy and convenient. The application form was available on the site itself along with all the necessary information required like fee structure, dates, eligibility criteria, and so on. although usually there is an entrance exam, it wasn't there for my batch as I applied during peak of COVID.

The admission process was relatively straightforward and similar to the one followed by nearly all design colleges with a preliminary written test followed by task completion and a personal interview with a portfolio review. Eligibility- +2 from a recognized board with >50%. All the details regarding this process such as the forms, fees, and important dates are provided on the institute's official page.

The eligibility of the course was the completion of 10th and 12th grade, with more than 50% marks. There is an entrance test called SEED, which tests aptitude and design thinking. All the registration and application process details and dates can be found on the official website. Once the merit list for the SEED exam is released, a Portfolio Review and Personal Interview round is conducted where the candidate is required to present a personal design portfolio

Since I belong to the general category, I could not avail myself of any reservation benefits. I attempted the SEED exam online in February this year. The duration of the test was 1 hour. The exam process was not very difficult as we were provided with proper instructions and guidelines. After I cleared my first round of SEED, I prepared a model for the situation test which was again online and was discussed in the PRPI round along with my portfolio review and personal interview. I was very nervous before the interview but the interviewers were so friendly yet professional that helped me clear my interview confidently. The jury asked questions mainly about my situation test model, my portfolios, my aspirations as a designer, etc.Overall it was a great experience for me
Admission:
Due to the pandemic which began in 2020, the entire experience was based online. My first preference was to get into NIFT, but since I did not clear the exam I had to go with my second preference which was SID, Pune. I had also applied for UCEED exam and scored 1230 rank AIR. I did not go for it because I wanted fashion communication which was not available. I also cleared extrance exams of Srishti, MIT, WUD and I did not go for them. Srishti and MIT did not offer fashion communication. When I talked to few seniors they told me that SID Pune is better than WUD since WUD is a new college. I am from the general category. The admission criteria for my programme for all colleges is entrance test, situation test (offline) and personal intrview. Due to the pandemic all the colleges mostly had entrance test and personal interview/ portfolio review only. For SID Pune, they first selected us on the basis of our portfolio and then shortlisted us for the interview. The interview was pretty great.

These scholarships are a reward for the student’s excellent performance in different domains. Most of the scholarships are awarded by Symbiosis International University at the university level. Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship offers a 50% academic fee waiver to eligible candidates. The students have to apply for the scholarship after meeting the eligibility criteria and filling out the application form.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship
Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit scholarship is offered by the “Symbiosis Society Foundation”. The authority offers this scholarship to one of the meritorious students of Symbiosis Institute of Design. It gives a 50% academic fee waiver to the beneficiary. The scholarship amount will not be paid to the student and will be adjusted in the academic fee as mentioned. However, a scholarship amount cheque will be issued in the last semester.
Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Students have to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below to apply for the Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship.
- Students having a minimum of 8.50 GPA.
- The student should not have any backlog.
- The student can avail of only one of the scholarships as per his/her preference granted by the university.
Important Note: If two or more students qualify for the merit scholarship by Symbiosis Institute of Design, the weighted average of marks of class 10 and 12th will be considered as a tie-breaker.
Symbiosis Institute of Design Sports Scholarship
Symbiosis Institute of Design Sports scholarship aims to recognize and reward the students based on their performance in the sports field. The beneficiaries of this scholarship usually include students who have represented Symbiosis University at the National University Games or National Games in various sports.
- The scholarship is awarded to five students at the university level.
- The students are selected based on their performance in the state-level, national-level, and international tournaments.
- The selected students are offered INR 24,000 as a scholarship reward.
Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship
Symbiosis Institute of Design NER scholarship is available for students coming from North Eastern regions comprising eight states as follows, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram and Sikkim. The scholarship covers a full academic fee waiver for the students. A total of 8 NER scholarships are available at the undergraduate level.

Students have to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below to apply for the Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship.
- Applicant must have qualified SET/SNAP/Any other entrance examination conducted by SIU with a valid score.
- The student must possess the domicile certificate of any of the eight states.
- Student must have scored at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST) in class 12th examination.

The admission schedule of Symbiosis Institute of Design has not been released by the respective authority. It is expected that the admissions will start in the last week of August, this year.
Admisison will be based on Merit in SEED + Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round. The date has not been announced for the next SEED.
Admission to SID Pune is done based on SEED exam and you must ahve passed 12th with 50% or more to be eligible for admission. However, for more info on your admission, you can directly contact the college at: 020 2663 4546.
