Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission 2025

Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission 2025 is open for B.Des and M.Des. Students who fail to qualify for the SEED / Entrance Exam with a valid score, will not be considered for Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission. Given below is the admission process for Symbiosis Institute of Design.

Visit the official website of the institute https://www.sid.edu.in/.
Choose the respective “Registration Form” tab under the announcements section, on the middle left of the home page.
Click on Register for new user registration.
Fill out the registration form and make payment for the successful submission of the application.
Appear for SEED, as per the notified dates.
Once a candidate qualifies for SEED with a valid score, he or she will appear for the SID’s Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.
The student has to upload the portfolio one day before the PRPI round.
Students will be given three days to perform the PRPI task, and the candidate has to upload the task one day before the PRPI round.

Important Note: Symbiosis Institute of Design B.Des final admission will be based on the performance in the SEED, PRPI Task, Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction. Similarly, for M.Des final admission will be based on the performance in the Entrance Exam, Studio Test, Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.

Labs and Studios: Symbiosis Institute of Design has various labs and studios available for its students. SID Pune computer labs have the latest computers with specialized application software. There are high-quality coloured and black & white laser printers and scanners available on the campus.
Library: Symbiosis Institute of Design library has two sections of the library – the reading hall and the thinking room. SID Pune library has more than 13,000 books, 1243 educational audiovisual collections, and 15 e-resources.
Auditorium: Symbiosis Institute of Design has a well-furnished and air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 585 students. It has a generator backup facility.
Health Care: Symbiosis Institute of Design has an in-house health care centre that offers medical facilities to students, teaching and non-teaching staff. It has a team of specialist doctors who are present on the campus.
Mess and Cafeteria: SID Pune has a mess and cafeteria for students with healthy food and snacks. The canteen offers veg and non-veg food options. There is a juice bar that offers milkshakes, juices, and fruits to the students. Students can also purchase coffee from the Coffee Day Xpress.

Symbiosis Institute of Design hostels are available for boys and girls separately. SID Pune comprises 3 girls' hostels and 1 boys' hostel. The names of the girls' hostels are Daisy, Orchid and Daffodil. The boy's hostel is named as Kopou.

Triple-sharing rooms are available in the boys' hostel.
Orchid Girls Hostel has double as well as triple sharing rooms.
Daffodil girls’ hostels have double-sharing rooms while Daisy Girls Hotsel has triple-sharing rooms.
The student residing in the hostel will get a bed with a mattress, cupboard, table and chair, book rack, and attached washroom.
The hostels are allotted on a first-come first-serve basis.

Student view on course curriculum

Design is a vastly growing field in the market. The number of students applying for design course is increasing yearly as more and more people come to know about the field. the amount of fees colleges are charging for the course is on the higher side when compared with the quality of education offered. The design course tends to take a mental, physical and financial level on students.

Total course fees and provided scholarship

The annual fees for the bachelor's degree in design course is approximately 5lakhs. This includes tuition fees and access to all machineries and labs present in the college campus. This does not however include cost of materials that you will require for your assignments. Those would be additional expense on the part of the student and will depend on the student's specialisation and course. Scholarship facilities are available and mails are sent out during the year. Student's can apply depending on the eligibility requirements.

College fest and various activities

Different festivals are celebrated. each department also hosts differnet events. There's a 24 hour fest called Lakshya which is held yearly and it is extremely fun to spend a whole day in college, throughout the night. The college fest is a 3 day event in january or february. The library is well equipped with books, both physical and online. There is a gym on campus and health also however the health centre is not upto mark in my opinion. Classrooms are equipped with sensex boards which is good. You can take part in sports. there's basketball, football, volleyball, badminton etc courts.

Hostel facilities provided by the college

Hostel fees is hefty but then you get an attached bathroom and toilet in each room. There is options for either 2 sharing or 3 sharing rooms and fees depend accordingly. You are given cupboards and shelfs to store your stuff. Food quality is not good however, people tend to order online a lot. Your hostel room experience will mainly depend on who has been assigned to you as your roomate/s. If you break curfew you may be subject to fines. there are 2 security dogs in the hostel. also swings are available in the main compound which is good.

Student views on the faculty

Faculty members are experienced. the quality taught is not adequate with the amount of fees we are required to pay considering all additional expenses for materials are on us. The faculty tends to overlook everything as design is hands on and students are supposed to do their assignments

Admission process of the college

Symbiosis is said to be the top private institute for design, and most students who don't get into the national colleges apply here. This college also is the one with the lower fees compared to all other private colleges. The admission process includes an online multiple choice assessment. On clearing that you are then subject to a pr/pi round where in you are given a task which includes 2D and 3D modelling which you have to present to your interviewers along with your portfolio. You may be subject to questioning and there is strict deadlines for completing your given task. All students from different educational backgrounds are eligible to apply for the course and entrance tests

Night Life

You are not allowed to exit the hostel after 9pm which is later than most other college hostels. You are expected to return by 10pm max if you are outside. Most students to tend to stayback in college after hours to use facilities. Students tend to hangout a lot in nearby tea stalls, pani puri stalls, and other small shops. The locality is not ideally safe for girls especially as there are a lot of people outside who tend to make you uncomfortable. There have been instances of harrasers.

Scholarship provided by the college.

Symbiosis Institute of Design provides different types of scholarships to its students based on their academic performance. These scholarships are a reward for the student’s excellent performance in different domains. Most of the scholarships are awarded by Symbiosis International University at the university level. Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship offers a 50% academic fee waiver to eligible candidates. The students have to apply for the scholarship after meeting the eligibility criteria and filling out the application form.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship

Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit scholarship is offered by the “Symbiosis Society Foundation”. The authority offers this scholarship to one of the meritorious students of Symbiosis Institute of Design. It gives a 50% academic fee waiver to the beneficiary. The scholarship amount will not be paid to the student and will be adjusted in the academic fee as mentioned. However, a scholarship amount cheque will be issued in the last semester.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Students have to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below to apply for the Symbiosis Institute of Design Merit Scholarship.

Students having a minimum of 8.50 GPA.
The student should not have any backlog.
The student can avail of only one of the scholarships as per his/her preference granted by the university.

Important Note: If two or more students qualify for the merit scholarship by Symbiosis Institute of Design, the weighted average of marks of class 10 and 12th will be considered as a tie-breaker.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Sports Scholarship

Symbiosis Institute of Design Sports scholarship aims to recognize and reward the students based on their performance in the sports field. The beneficiaries of this scholarship usually include students who have represented Symbiosis University at the National University Games or National Games in various sports.

The scholarship is awarded to five students at the university level.
The students are selected based on their performance in the state-level, national-level, and international tournaments.
The selected students are offered INR 24,000 as a scholarship reward.

Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship

Symbiosis Institute of Design NER scholarship is available for students coming from North Eastern regions comprising eight states as follows, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram and Sikkim. The scholarship covers a full academic fee waiver for the students. A total of 8 NER scholarships are available at the undergraduate level.

Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Students have to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below to apply for the Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship.

Applicant must have qualified SET/SNAP/Any other entrance examination conducted by SIU with a valid score.
The student must possess the domicile certificate of any of the eight states.
Student must have scored at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST) in class 12th examination.

Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship Documents Required

The following documents must be submitted in order to apply for the Symbiosis Institute of Design NER Scholarship.

Academic Transcript to support academic excellence
LOR from Principal of college/Elected representative of people/Gazetted officer
Statement of Purpose
Any other document that the applicant wishes to submit in his/her support

The student has to fill in the application form after meeting the eligibility criteria with the necessary documents asked for. Selection of the beneficiary is based on academic achievements, statement of purpose, references, and other documents submitted.

Admission:

This college was one of the few colleges that had the exact course I wanted, with good placement opportunities and connections. It's also reputed in the design and law field. The website was well informed and the most striking part was their intake process. It is a three tiered system with a general test being the first, which has questions about general knowledge, design, logical reasoning and basic math, science, english etc. Once you clear the first phase, you move on to the next phase, that is the prpi test. They give you a certain task which you must perform in a certain time window and submit. In my case, I was given a music clip and was told to imagine a character and make a physical model according to the audio. Once you pass that, you move on to the interview and that's it!

Admission:

For fashion your first option must be NIFT delhi mumbai bangalore. Try to get into one of them.if you are looking for private collages then SID is the best place for you.High fees but the hostel fecilities are really nice

The Library: Our colleges has a state of the art library that helps students find all design and web application related books there is
The Campus: it has a lot of art and graphitti and students are encouraged to paint and let your imagination flow on the walls with fun activities like wall waiting with collegemates every year for college fest.

Admission:

I chose this college over other colleges because of the Symbiosis connections to alumni and faculty who have connections to professionals in the business sand tech sector. Pune is also a city that encourages youth and creativity which gives designers the opportunity to display work with confidence. Symbiosis also has many other colleges so the intra college elective programs in which we can learn subjects such as economic and marketing as our elective subjects and external faculties from other symbiosis institutes are assigned to teach.

One of the reason for selecting symbiosis was, be it was close to my city. The admission exam start in the time of nov - oct there is one exam based on a course after that we get one task to do related to our stream and in the interview they will ask us question related to the course to see if we are actually eligible for this college or not. The syllabus of this institute was great

The people you meet, the friends you'll make and even the seniors, they are all amazing and sweet.
The events ofc, Symbi has a variety of events and functions to throughout the year and they're all sooo very fun

Admission:

• I had applied for NID, IIT IDC, MIT ADT, BITS, KIIT and NATA as well. I got accepted in all the pvt colleges I applied to except the govt colleges(NID & UCEED). I chose SID because of it's course structure and renowned reputation. • I couldn't make it to NID because I got AIR 258 and there are only 45 seats all over India for general students and I couldn't get IIT due to the reservation system :( • To get into SID, first you need to pass the SEED entrance exam which is of 60 marks and I had scored 43. Then after passing that you have to submit your Portfolio and prepare for a PRPI task and personal interview. After that there are 3 merit lists and you'll secure a seat there if you pass all the three.

SID is not just about academics but very much beyond than that which teaches you how to live your life in the best possible ways.
The best machinery, equipments, labs, studios, classrooms and facilities.

Dislikes

In my personal choice I would say that the infrastructure and the campus should have been much more better that it is for a design college.
To be very honest till now there's nothing to disliked as such.

Admission:

I applied for (UID)-United world of design (got into it, but firstly the crowd over there is too much and too hi-fi no internships or placement till date and too expensive in all aspects and not being worthy for that expense.) (NID)- National Institute of design (didn't got into as the first round itself i didn't clear) (NIFT)- National Institute of fashion technology (got into but i was much into product design than fashion or anything) For getting into SID eligibility is 10+2 in any stream, SID conducts it's own entrance examination called (SEED) and doesn't accepts any other. There are 3 rounds of this examination everything is in online mode first round is of 60 marks for 60 mins only MCQS all related to design, critical thinking, logical reasoning and general aptitude. If got selected in 1st round so in 2nd round you have to submit your portfolio and the task which they give you through mail after that there is an interview (student friendly) all the process is very handy and easy

The admission process was fairly simple. There are 3 rounds, the SEED test for which you can apply on the website, and then a studio test and interview. You get called on-campus for the last 2 rounds if you make it past the first.

The students can follow the steps given below to appear for SEED in order to be eligible for further admission process at Symbiosis Institute of Design.

Visit the official website of the institute https://www.sid.edu.in/.
Choose the “B.Des 2025 Registration Open” or “M.Des 2025 Registration Open” under the announcements section, on the middle left of the home page.
Click on Register for new user registration.
Read the instructions carefully and click on the “I Agree” button to accept the Terms and conditions.
Fill in the required details asked for.
Click on “Save and Continue” to change the password.
Choose the “Submit” button to register, and a registration ID will be displayed on the screen.
After successful registration, the student will get an email containing the registration ID and password.
After this, the student will be redirected to the payment portal.
The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
The payment mode will be Billdesk Payment Gateway.
