Honest unbiased review of symbiosis institute of design

Likes

A lot of aspects of the design field have been covered in the course structure, from rendering to ideation and designing.
Rigorous practice and training is encouraged, structured course with multiple related assignments.
Great campus with canteen, stationery, juice centre, auditorium, amphi, sports area, gym, medical room and more.

Dislikes

Too much work pressure and too many assignments with multiple redos.
Expensive course with multiple extra expenses.
Furniture not up to the mark, angled tables with large working space not provided

Placement Experience:

Symbiosis institute of design has been known to have a placement percentage close to almost a 100%. It is well connected to industry professionals with a lot of them being alumni. Seminars and talks are regularly conducted with, exchange programs and field trips also being a part of the process. Internships begin from 3rd year and placement processes begin soon after.

Little but enough about sid

Likes

The quality of courses is good and faculty is also fine
There are a huge number of very talented students and seniors that help you
There are different colleges in our campus and we get the chance to interact with students in different courses

Dislikes

The campus is too small and is consisted of 3 main buildings
The budget given for college fest was very low
Not a very environmental friendly campus

Placement Experience:

Campus placement has not been discussed much and haven't heard anything from our seniors but it has been said to us that there is a hundred percent placement rate with famous companies like Google Accenture etc

Likes

Uts not just a design collage you get interact with more people
There is a management collage,law collage
Communication collage and liberal art very next to you

Dislikes

Small campus not much of a ground for sports
Not enough mechines and computers in labs
Canteen is small and is shared by all collages

Course Curriculum Overview:

Fashion communication id well structured jn SID.you cover all aspects of it in 4 years. Photoshop illustrator and softwares like these are thought in detail.fashion styling visual merchandising is also thought.

Honest College Experience

Likes

The location of the campus is prime. it is near the airport and also provides easy access to the metro services and railway station.

Dislikes

The bathroom facility is not up to mark.
Mess food is not the best and people tend to spend ample amount of buying from outside.

Design is a vastly growing field in the market. The number of students applying for design course is increasing yearly as more and more people come to know about the field. the amount of fees colleges are charging for the course is on the higher side when compared with the quality of education offered. The design course tends to take a mental, physical and financial level on students.

Life at SID

Likes

Communication with faculty was easy as they are friendly and open
The campus is not very big but gives the vibes
Fellow batchmates and seniors are really nice, no ragging, nothing

Dislikes

Washrooms are very small and mostly wet and dirty
Again the classrooms i feel are not that big but they are sufficient
The amount of events and clubs are less than what they could be

I chose symbiosis after doing numerous researches. It turned out to be one of the top colleges. I chose fashion design here cause it offers you educational trips, building portfolio, garment construction and even design showcases. Along with which you get a separate floor

The Campus: it has a lot of art and graphitti and students are encouraged to paint and let your imagination flow on the walls with fun activities like wall waiting with collegemates every year for college fest.
The Library: Our colleges has a state of the art library that helps students find all design and web application related books there is
The Accessibility: Our college is equipped with special toilets for physically challenged people with well maintained ramps and elevators.

Dislikes

The Faculty: The faculty is quite dead at this point a lot of good teachers with real life practical experience have left while in UIUX department.
The Canteen: It is not too bad but very old and under maintenance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for user interface is very archaic and underdeveloped in SID. A lot of what we are taught is from youtube videos and regurgitation from online courses. Max to max you get opportunities here to meet creative people like minded and faculty that encourages perfection.

The flow of creativity starts at symbiosis

Likes

The faculty is great in case of teaching, helping if any doubt and very friendly
The campus is very interesting we don't feel bored in college
The syllabus is organised and the foundation course in first year is a bonus

Dislikes

There are some assignments deadline clashing and not allowing us to complete on time
College should provide some stationary things for free because we are anyways paying a lot
The boys are less then the girls, every year the ratio varies

Placement Experience:

For placements you should be completing with your 4 year. And college helps a student for extra 3-4 for placements if they don't get placed after there 4th year. There are some internships in 3rd year.

Symbiosis Institute of Design: Your best college life

Likes

The people you meet, the friends you'll make and even the seniors, they are all amazing and sweet.
The events ofc, Symbi has a variety of events and functions to throughout the year and they're all sooo very fun
The faculty. The faculty there is really good, they're always behind you to perfect yourself and become the best in their course

Dislikes

Placement Experience:

• After the 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. • The students get an avg package of 26-30 lpa. • Placement record is 99% • My plans after the degree is that I'll take the campus placement.

The best detailed information possible in all ways.

Likes

The best, supportive and interactive faculty and staff members
The best machinery, equipments, labs, studios, classrooms and facilities.
SID is not just about academics but very much beyond than that which teaches you how to live your life in the best possible ways.

Dislikes

To be very honest till now there's nothing to disliked as such.
In my personal choice I would say that the infrastructure and the campus should have been much more better that it is for a design college.

Placement Experience:

From 3year students start getting into different type of and different time duration internships in 4th year also they get internships and campus placement. There are numerous renowned as well as local companies in which students get into internships and placements. The avg. Package is of 6-8LPA and the highest is of 18LPA. 90% placement ratio is there at SID

Decent-ish.

Placement Experience:

The placements are decent. As mentioned, they bring in corporate companies rather than design studios, so it is a given that you get a good salary. The placements department coordinates through email and you have to do tasks and interviews until finally get the job. A lot of students apply on their own too though.
