Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum designed is very good and up to date. It keeps getting updated as much as possible. It is advanced and planned in a way thats easy to understand. All the parts of the curriculum are practical and hands on. They prepare us for the real world The frequency and timings if the exams are a bit weird as it keeps changing currently due to their shift from a private college to a semi government college

Campus Life

Pearl has different events being held all the time. Different dress up days also like bollywood day no bag day etc. it also has had movie nights etc.and sports day happens every year there is a huge library with alot of books to refer to. All classrooms have projectors and boards. Tech labs are different than normal classrooms There are many clubs and it is mandatory for everyone to join one

Faculty

Jury is conducted in each semester. 1st sem is very chill .As you proceed jury does become more tricky. They ask you questions and might catch on something which slips away from your tongue. If your confident then it is chill

Campus Life

Campus Life is so good out there , classes are 6 hrs for one day but these 6 hours doesn't feel like 6 hrs.we get to take rest between the classes and the breaks in between. So it's not that stressful.A lot of wife range of books related to all the designs elements that one need to study about while in a design institute is available in the library. Heaters are available in the campus and camera everywhere. Talking about sports we have a complete range of sports varying from football , cricket , basketball , kabbadi etc

Internships Opportunities

Actually we get a lot of interships from a whole load of companies outside most of the companies hire the students from fashion communication and fashion design here, but the job which they hire for could be accomplished by any student there. Course Curriculum Overview

So, my course is Fashion Communication, which is very promising, and a crucial part of the industry. Another factor which influenced my decision was the direction in which the course went during the pandemic. It gave me a good idea of what to expect in the field during uncertain times. The curriculum prepares us really well for the real-world applications. The curriculum focuses on the actual work, instead of the theory, and we're often taken out for industry visits, for us to see how the industry works properly. Guest lectures and seminars are often arranged for us, and we get a glimse in to the practical world. Additionally, all the classes encourage discussion and debates, for a much better understanding of the concept, and then we are assigned practical work to really understand how the topic is applied in real life. So, I believe the course prepares us really well for the actual world. Although I do think that the course can improve on certain fields. For example, the class hours can be a bit a more flexible, since considering the work load a traditional 9-5 work day might not work the best for everyone. Also, the classes are not recorded, so unless you personally take notes, or record it yourself, it's difficult to look back at the lectures. The mandatory attendance is also something that I would object to, since it's not feasible to maintain a 75% attendance for everyone, so that causes a bit of a problem for majority of the students. As for the frequency and timings of the exams, the semester starts of slow, and the work load hits almost immediately, which although is realistic, but difficult to adjust to. The frequency of the assessments is alright, and I honestly don't have any problem with the set curriculum.

Campus Life

To be honest, given the location of my campus, the social life is close to non-existent. The Student council does arrange for events on the campus during the festivals and otherwise too, and the cafe scene in the city is pretty good too, but otherwise, it's a bit below average. NIFT has it's annual event, Spectrum, which is held in the beginning of the year. Along with that, the other colleges and universities nearby also host their fests around the same time. There's also Converge, which is held towards the end of the year, and that's where all the participants from all NIFT campuses meet and compete in different sports and competitions. So, that's that. There are also some bars and clubs around, but I don't really trust the crowd. As for the library, it has a pretty good collection of books. It has almost all the books you'd need, and it's very rare for me to not find a book there. The classrooms have projectors and TV screens for display, but there are no speakers, so that is something we need to arrange for if we need it for certain presentations. Additionally, the IT lab is also well equipped, with the adequate softwares and tools needed. The stationery shop on campus tho, had been shut for a while, and also very small to accomodate the students, so there were problems with that, but that seems to have been sorted for now, but i'm not very sure. The hostel also has a gym, but the equipment is apparently all damaged, or not enough, so that's quite an issue. There's a basketball, football and volleyball court, which are used very often, and they seem to be in good condition. There are also different clubs in the college, and they oversee the student activities and events and problems and all.

Campus Life

The names of the annual and technical festivals along with the months which are typically held in NIFT Patna we celebrate almost all festivals in the campus which to me seems very refreshing and the loads of studies same to keep low and very and very fresh our mood Christmas Diwali Durga Puja and various festivals are celebrated in our college. The faculties and technology provisions within the classrooms the facilities provider in a classrooms are like projector white board AC in the classroom we have MAC labs but but the OS of the computer is still windows which to make seems very disappointing because it works very slow. And overview of sports and extra curricular of a don campus in the name of sports the college has gloves for sports which are only joined or mostly joined by boys for throwball football Kabaddi etc only boys participate for extra curricular activities that diet include various kind of paintings like Madhubani painting workshop and other workshops which we have we also go out on visits for workshops like Matka making workshop and etc. Any student and social groups clubs or students photos including impact on social life we have litera literary club which offers opportunities to make magazines and write poems and showcase our work in that yearly magazine of the college.

The overall social life at NIFT was pretty great. There are a couple of clubs that you could be a part of like cultural, sports, literary, etc. There is a lot of party culture as well and the social club tries their best with creative ideas of programs. Moreover the juniors and seniors share a great bond as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for National Institute of Fashion Technology for an academic year varies by semester anand category. Internships Opportunities

There are companies like arvind, Ani clothing, Allen Solly, Rahul mishra that offer internships under the roles of design assistant, social media manager, graphic designer and all with most of the time no stipend to 15k per month. Here we need to check the technicality of the fabric, do design process and pattern making .

Placement Experience

College placements are good enough. A whole week is dedicated to that. Students get enough opportunities throughout the course and are offered jobs in 4th year. Even after that if placement hasn't happened, the college faculties have enough contacts.

It is around 1.8 lakh per semister and there are a lot of scholarships like sartak and nsp for students who really need it.The amount of scholarship amount varies from person to person depending on their academic and financial conditions

Faculty

The faculty members for the Fashion Communication course were quite friendly and helpful most of the time. I liked two faculty members the most; their names are Pika Mam and Vishesh Azad Sir. These two honorable faculty members were quite helpful and kind to me. There were none whom I didn't like and even If I disliked them, I can't remember their names. There were a total of 8 exams, equaling the number of semesters. Exams at NIFT Delhi Campus were in accordance, which means they were both challenging and demanded a lot of creativity, which is obvious considering NIFT is a Fashion Design College. During the 2016-2020 period, B.des (FC) class witnessed, as far as I can remember, a total of three students having semester backs. The course Curriculum was appropriate and up to the mark, although I believe, with the changing times, they must have made added required changes to it by now.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fee structure was around approximately Rs 700,000 in total for the 8 semesters that I completed between 2016 and 2020 class for the Bachelor of Design Course in Fashion Communication at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi. Following are the detailed breakup of per year fee structure during the aformentioned period for the b.des course at NIFT Delhi: - 1st Year Fee: Rs 1.50 Lakhs (1st sem + 2nd Sem) - 2nd Year Fee: Rs 1.65 Lakhs (3nd sem + 4rd Sem - 3rd Year Fee: Rs 1.85 Lakhs (5th Sem + 6th Sem) - 4th Year Fee: Rs 2.05 Lakhs (7th Sem + 8th Sem) Fees for other batchmates for categories other than mine could be approximately same for other streams such as under the B.des UG course, and same but I doesn't have the exact details of it as it was between 2016 to 2020.

There are annual meets , called Spectrum and Converge, which helps the students showcase their talents in cultural activities or sports. There is a fest organised by the students of NIFT Kannur, Yugam, which is a fun event involving outsiders as well as students. There are other competitions in the college as well. The facilities are dependent on the department and labs and other technical instruments are provided. There are student-run clubs that conduct activities from time to time.

Placement Experience

When you are in year 3(internships or placements both) or 4(placement) then you're eligible to work in industry. Accessory design is the best department in our campus (gandhinagar) and thus highly reputated companies hire them. So there's a kind of series that is followed that companies first gives preference to DELHI and MUMBAI and then other campuses. As far as my department (fashion communication) is concerned they're mostly given opportunities in retail companies for example- a VISUAL MERCHANDISER in WESTSIDE. Last year GANDHINAGAR was number one in placements with a package of 9,00,000/- Marks or CGPAs matters at the end but a good portfolio matters alot in designing college. Right now I have just completed first year so I have this much information only regarding placements. My plans would be ofcourse to sit for placements and get hired in a good comapny. After getting enough money for my masters I shall go abroad for masters as it builds a good portfolio and even more better job

Faculty

The faculty tries to bring their industry experience and expertise together into the classroom. Students get a hands on experience by learning real techniques from artisans themselves as NIFT focuses alot more on promoting local artisans and crafts. Faculty appreciates those ideas more which are taken from our surroundings or nature as they want us to become a close observant. They dont really care about what the final product is rather they are more interested into the thoughts or brainstorming that has been done behind the product. They are not at all into perfectionism instead how much we explored, did we step out of the campus and interviewed people is what they all care about. Nift is a place for all open minded people and that makes our faculty very friendly. We are given full freedom to think into various aspects. Faculty provides us with their industry connections for our placement and internship opportunities too. Our campus was first in placements last year (9,00,000/-).

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as I always wanted to pursue photography and I was good at arts & design. Faculty was very limited, and in all four years of the course not much changed in faculty & the strength of the class was around 40 students as the fashion communication department had only 1 batch. Teaching methods were satisfactory, teachers were very well knowledged about the subject and helpful too. Term exams usually used to be after 4 months, there used to be 2 term exams in an academic year. Passing difficulty was tough, attendance played a very crucial role, and girls with less attendance were not allowed to take exams (whatever may be the reason).

Campus Life

Not many fests had taken place during my graduation, but things have improved with time now. There was a pretty big library with the availability of all books magazines, and newspapers. Classrooms were also spacious as it was a new campus shifted in Narhe, Pune. In sports, the college was pretty much involved with volleyball, basketball, and other sports competitions monthly. There's an Instagram group known as Soft Meme, which I believe is run by college students.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I wanted to opt for something related to marketing side or more like something that requires digital work. The faculty:student ratio is 1:40 in my batch. My faculty is very knowledgeable. I have a good experience in teaching (not all but mostly) with them. The term exams are timely scheduled and it is not easy to pass a exam but it is not also very difficult. If you work consistently throughput the semester you would score a good grade in the end.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is hella high acc to me. The amount they take from us is not worth the hype and what we get in return is very little. The Institute provide a lot of scholarships for the students and it is easy to avail if you have all the documents required for it. Personally I feel the campus jobs is good. The amount of money we give to the Institute is not equivalent to the job salary which we get from campus jobs.

Campus Life

Amity youth fest conducted in the month of march every year is the only fest that took place during my course with frequent visits from different celebrities for movie promotions, there's a whole block of the library with a lot of books, amenities in the classroom were a projector and a whiteboard the chairs were broken in most of the blocks though, there's a sports competition every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

there was a Rs. 8000 fee hike every year the total cost was around 8 lacs for the 4-year program considering the fees over affordability with the quality of education was relatively low, I didn't get any scholarship, financial assistance & job on campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

Since I've always been passionate about fashion, It was an obvious choice for me to choose fashion communication. The faculty is great and we often have guest lecturers for workshops and guest faculties to teach us whole modules. Most of the teachers also have industry experience which gives us great insight. There are juries instead of exams at the end of every semester.

Placement Experience

From the 6th semester onwards, students become eligible for placements. There are various fields in the industry where students can work depending on their specialisations. There is a placement cell that helps with such opportunities. Infosys, Deloitte, Elle, IMB are some companies that offer employability,
