What type of projects are undertaken at NIFT Patna?

Bhagalpur Mega Handloom Cluster Project is sanctioned by DC (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles. A Project for Development of Dyeing & Printing, Design Development, Capacity Building, Production of Value Added Khadi Apparel, and Branding of Bihar Khadi has been sanctioned by the Bihar Khadi Board, Govt. of Bihar. Also, NIFT PATNA did an exclusive drive with the Ministry of External Affairs to hold a passport camp exclusive for NIFT Students, and a record 330 passports were made in a single day at NIFT.

Does the Institute provide assistance to students to build start-ups?

The institute has an Incubation Cell to support and enable startups. NIFT Patna currently has 03 start-ups who have received final approval for funding under Bihar Start-up Policy, 2017. Apart from them, there are 22 other applications received by NIFT Patna. The students can also take up internships anywhere in India or abroad with the consent of the department.

Are there any cultural events organized in the campus?

Spectrum is the annual cultural event of NIFT Patna where students from NIFT as well as all leading Educational Institutions in and around Patna co-participate in events spanning the performing arts, sports, debates, fashion shows, and literature.

Admission Criteria

Maximum Age: 24 years. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/ Person With Disability (PWD) subject to Eligibility Criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have successfully completed any of the following:

The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi. OR
General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB). OR
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system. OR
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. OR
3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

Admission Guidelines

Based on the choice, all eligible candidates will have to appear for a written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programme opted.
On the basis of result of written test GAT and CAT, shortlisted B.Des candidates will be called for second test called Situation Test.

The fees will range from 12,00,000 - 15,00,000 for 4 years. The college also conducts international study tour. The visa and ticket cost is not included and is based on the management suggestion. Hostel deposit has to be paid onetime.
