Course Curriculum Overview

5

Aspects that influenced my decision to choose this course is the alumni success, internship and placement rates, faculty expertise, industry connections, practical knowledge and experience over being a book worm. The curriculum prepares very well for real-world applications or further academic pursuits as college keeps us connected to the real world, alumni, industry experts by conducting seminars, workshops or one to one interaction with people. Nothing is difficult if you are ready for everything.

Internships Opportunities

5

There are many renowned and local companies which hire students for summer internships or regular internships and all are paid. They also provide with certification and recommendation letter. Which helps further in future.

Placement Experience

5

From 3year students start getting into different type of and different time duration internships in 4th year also they get internships and campus placement. There are numerous renowned as well as local companies in which students get into internships and placements. The avg. Package is of 6-8LPA and the highest is of 18LPA. 90% placement ratio is there at SID

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for any of the B.des programme at SID is 5LPA and it doesn't increase with time instead sometimes it decreases by thousand rupees and the fees is inclusive of all no extra charge for anything. There are scholarships but after 1st SEM depending on your attendance and CGPA.

Campus Life

5

There are many annual and technical fests held in campus we celebrate many festivals like ganesh puja, onam, Navratri, Christmas and many more. There is an exclusive on campus library which u can access anytime during college hours. There is all latest, advanced and best technologies used in class, labs, studio and everywhere. There are many clubs and societies, portfolios of which you can be a part of. There is also sports facilities for those interested and students taking part in any such clubs, activities, sports or anything firstly its students responsibility to balance work and extracurricular but the faculty also helps and support doing that.

Hostel Facilities

5

The college's hostel is just a km away from campus but the shuttle bus service is available from hostel to college and college to hostel. There are double and triple sharing rooms with attach washroom and bathroom, a cupboard, study table with attach drawer, chair, soft board, 2 attached shelf over the table, bed and mattress, floor mat, curtain, clothes dryer stand, bucket, mug, bathroom stool, mirror, dustbin daily housekeeping people come and clean the room the whole hostel premises is very clean and hygienic. The staff is great there are indoor sports as well such as snooker, carrom, table tennis and outdoor sports like badminton, basketball. The mess food is also really great just tastes like homemade food clean and hygienic. Also there is a commom room, TV in the mess, swings around and benches placed to sit there a 2 Labrador also to play around. Many guards and staff all satey measures taken care of. Also u can swiggy / zomato something or amzon or anything.

Admission

I applied for (UID)-United world of design (got into it, but firstly the crowd over there is too much and too hi-fi no internships or placement till date and too expensive in all aspects and not being worthy for that expense.) (NID)- National Institute of design (didn't got into as the first round itself i didn't clear) (NIFT)- National Institute of fashion technology (got into but i was much into product design than fashion or anything) For getting into SID eligibility is 10+2 in any stream, SID conducts it's own entrance examination called (SEED) and doesn't accepts any other. There are 3 rounds of this examination everything is in online mode first round is of 60 marks for 60 mins only MCQS all related to design, critical thinking, logical reasoning and general aptitude. If got selected in 1st round so in 2nd round you have to submit your portfolio and the task which they give you through mail after that there is an interview (student friendly) all the process is very handy and easy

Faculty

5

Firstly SID has the best faculty as everyone is the best in their own possible ways. Faculty is much more approachable that expected that at anytime of the day it is very supportive, kind and helpful and the students and faculty is not restricted to its area only like student of any specialization can approach any faculty of any other specialization and there's no discrimination of that they treat everyone equally . In design college there is no exam there is jury (externals comes to college for the examination of ecah student personally)There is only one jury at the end of the sem which is only practical no theroy but the jury members can ask viva related to your work. As such no student fails unless and until he/she is not prepared and didn't work or paid attention in class or didn't submit the assignment at all or on time for the whole sem because jury is something the mix of all what you did the whole sem.

Other Applied Colleges

United World Institute Of Design - [UID] | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] {Hons.} (Interior & Furniture Design)

Firstly this college doesn't provide any internships or placement it's also very expensive unnecessarily and it has very hi-fi crowd.

Bits Design School | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] {Hons.}

Didn't got into .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The creative assignments and learnings of how to think out of the box made me choose this course. The curriculum prepares us well and we learn how to move forward. but the real world is something which we learn only when we enter the field. The teaching methods can improve by introducing more practical engagements and field visits. Frequency of exams are not to much and exams are easy to clear.
