Course Curriculum Overview
The course is designed to integrate design thinking with emerging technoogies which help students create user driven solutions, making it a prime reason for me to choose this course. The course curriculum ensures that student can contribute to meaningful and impactful experiences.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are provided to students if they choose to interview through the college. 15000-20000 per month is the average that a student can expect from an internship. The college prepares the student for the industry through their practical approach to learning.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are given in the last year of the 4 year course. A semester is dedicated to internships in the last year as well as students are encouraged to intern in an NGO in their penultimate year. Multiple MNC's such as PwC, Walmart etc. visit the college for placement opportunities
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly fees for the course was 4,00,000. Total fees for the Bachelors Course for 4 years comes to around 16,00,000. This included everything right from tuition fees to admission fees. No seperate fees for the course are levied.
Campus Life
Library is available in the college campus which can be accessed anytime the student wishes. Multiple labs are also available for prototype testing as well as user testing. Latest technologies are used in these labs.
Admission
I applied to a few design colleges like NID, MIT etc. But the prime reason for me to choose NMIMS School of Design was the location, as it is based in Mumbai. Along with that this is the only college which has a very well structured modern technological based curriculum.
Faculty
The batch size is approximately 30 students, this makes the student teacher ratio very good. All the professors are quite approachable and helpful. Exams are based semester wise and they test practical knowledge and creative thinking.
Night Life
A various numbers of cafes and stalls are available around the college which provide student budget friendly meals. The area is surrounded by multiple other college campuses as well which makes the surroundings fairly safe.
