- Small classrooms, with small desks which makes it hard to do sketching and drawing.
- Small campus, just a building, the lectures happen in mithibai building and the computer lab lectures in glass building
- The admission team can be annoying at times and refuse to help you out.
Course Curriculum Overview
Design and animation as a curriculum is extremely relevant for now as well as the future, some might say ai would replace our jobs as designers but that's not happenening as ai cant replicate human emotions and cant generate an output that can be generated by humans. Every where we look, theres an element of design, hence this field of work is extremely relevant in coming times as well.
Placement Experience
The placements here are really really good, with the highest package of 20lpa and avg of 10lpa , the college stands with some of the top design schools in India. They have tie ups with big companies lole deliotte, axis bank etc and provide amazing placements through them. From my experience and talking to seniors, the college has 100% placement record and i feel they would continue to have it.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no scholarships available in this college, but the fee is extremely reasonable because fee for design courses in any good Institute is around the same , be it IIT or NID, their fee ranges from 2-4 lakh or more.
Campus Life
There isn't much of a campus life here, because there are just 2 buildings where our classes happen and even half of those are occupied by other colleges, but the infrastructure is top notch, and even though the college lacks in campus life, it gains in social aspects, with fests that are famous all around India, nmims offers amazing opportunities to socialize and make new friends. The college also has several interesting clubs, for fests management, music, sports etc. And all of them are set up with proper regulations and are very interesting.
Admission
Admission process wasnt hard for me, i just had to give an online exam and then the merit list came out and i got my offer letter, but a friend of mine was facing trouble with the process with some documents submission, and the admission faculty wasn't very cooperative with it and it was hard for him to proceed with the admission process.
Faculty
Extremely nice faculty members, the teachers have worked in the animation or design industry from 5-15 years, so they have practical hands on knowledge and are really helpful to guide us. They are super approachable during lectures but post lectures you might have trouble contacting them. Since they have worked in the industry, they have contacts with current animators working on big projects and they invite them for guest lectures every few days.
