The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter. Faculty: The professors of XLRI are renowned throughout the industry for their competency. They specialize in almost every domain one can think of be it Law, Competency Modeling, Compensation, or Performance Management. Peers: It’s the cream students who get the opportunity to get into a prestigious college like XLRI. You can see tough competition between the finest students at college. Every individual has a valuable opinion and stands to contradict others. Their thinking pattern is broad and given a case study, they look at all angles from accounting to finance to laws while proposing the solution. The situation at TISS is also quite similar. The total fees is INR 600000 (INR 300000 for each year). The hostel fees is Rs 50000 for each year. The fee is same for all categories, except the students who get a scholarship. Scholarship to students are granted not more than 80%.

Fees and Financial Aid:

As far as I am aware there is no such defined fees hike policy but hike depends on the placement report i guess. I am pursuing MBA in Human Resources form the batch 2023-25 and it cost me around 24 lacs for the entire period which included mess charges, hostel fees and other charges for amenities. Here at SCMHRD, several professional certificate assistance are provided in the form of scholarship for CFA and provision for SHRM also. As of now, I have not availed any of the financial assistance. I have been placed in Ather Energy for my summer internship but as i have not received my offer letter so the stipend amount is not known to me yet.

SCMHRD pros and cons

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fees for my batch were around 22 lakhs and the college does provide scholarships for the top 5 students at the end of the first year. But the college also has tie-ups with many organizations from where the students can avail of scholarships. Details of scholarships can be found on the website. I got a very good internship opportunity with a stipend of around 1L per month and also got a great job offer slightly above the average CTC of the batch 2023.

The fee structure is similar to other MBA colleges, with an average of 25 lakhs. The ROI is pretty good as well. The average stipend for a summer internship is more than 1.5 lakh and for final placement around 20 lakhs.

The course fees for our batch had been Rs, 13,90,000/- & hostel is Rs. 150,000/- per year. As we had the 1st year online, we didn't have to pay hostel fees during 1st year. There are no. of banks that offer loans at reasonable interest rates specifically for SCMHRD students.

The simple answer to your question is no, the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, or XIMB are not at par with the established ones XLRI, TISS, MDI, and SCMHRD. The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter.

Faculty: The professors of XLRI are renowned throughout the industry for their competency. They specialize in almost every domain one can think of be it Law, Competency Modeling, Compensation, or Performance Management.
Peers: It’s the cream students who get the opportunity to get into a prestigious college like XLRI. You can see tough competition between the finest students at college. Every individual has a valuable opinion and stands to contradict others. Their thinking pattern is broad and given a case study, they look at all angles from accounting to finance to laws while proposing the solution. The situation at TISS is also quite similar.

Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. But the truth is faculty and curriculum are the main but not the only factors that determine an institute's worth. Its own culture, ethics, and background have a lot to do with the programs it offers.

So one cannot match XLRIs programs no matter how much they try.

No, there are no hidden charges in the fees of SCMHRD, you will be notified if there will be hike or increase in fee as per the government norms. However, Hostel and Mess Fees can be increased by up to 10% each year. Government taxes would be additional as and when applicable. Hostel and Mess Fees for the subsequent year would be communicated before the commencement of the next academic year.
