Admission:
Admission to XIMB can be secured in 3 ways: CAT, XAT, and XGMT. The exams are held from November to January time frame and the admission forms open from around October goes on till January. The application form can be accessed from the website of the college, or other social media pages on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram can also redirect you to the link. The college usually has 50% reservation for Odiya domicile. After the exam, if you qualify for the cut off which is usually around the 85 percentile, you get an admission interview call letter from the college. Post completing my Bachelor, I was working in a firm for 22 months. With that work experience, I took CAT in 2021, aspiring to enter into a B School for the batch of 2022-24. XIMB was a big brand, even some of my friends had passed out from the same college. They were placed in good companies. It depends on you whether you want to join XIMB or try for IIM one more time. If you have the option to take a drop and pursue again it’s worth it. The only condition is that you will have to hustle more than ever and commit even harder than before.
If you have work experience of 2 years and can manage a year of preparation then definitely go for another try at IIM. However, if you have no option of taking a drop and have to choose XIMB it is still great as XIMB is also one of the leading B-schools in the country in every way.
Also, with work experience of more than 2-4 years, XIMB will boost your CV. If you are fresher then taking a year off may not be wise. As during placements your records will be seen and it may create some negative impression.

XIMB EMBA BM (Executive Master Of Business Administration - Business Management) is a 1-Year, Full-time Program designed for Working Executives. Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree, Work Experience, and Valid CAT / XAT / GMAT / X-GMT scores are eligible to apply for the program. You must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a Minimum of 55% Marks, 3 Years of Work Experience as on July 1, 2024, a Minimum Age of 23 Years as of July 1, 2024, also be a Self-Employed Person with a Minimum of 5 Years of Experience after obtaining a Qualifying Degree can be considered to get the admission into the EMBA course.
The candidates are selected based on their sectional and overall cut-off scores of top MBA entrance exams like XAT/ GMAT/ CAT/ X-GMT/ NMAT 2023 for admission to the MBA course. Authorities prepare the final XIMB merit list based on the performance of candidates in the admission test, WAT, GD-PI, past academic records, work experience, and other factors. The candidates can check the XIMB 2024 shortlist by entering the XU ID and date of birth in the provisional shortlist portal.
