Course Curriculum Overview:
The college follows the curriculum laid down by the University Grants Commission as adopted by the University of Calcutta. The syllabus is extensive and focused.
Although the CBCS curriculum of Psychology is a bit theoretical in nature, it prepares students for course-appropriate career options or further studies in the field. The curriculum is divided into specific papers that help students explore their interests.
There is room for improvement in the amount of time provided to complete a semester. Although ideally, a semester is supposed to be 6 months long, it is usually reduced in reality to 3-4 months and sometimes even a little over 2 months.
The college professors do a wonderful job at teaching, although this dearth of time available often hinders them from exploring topics of interest in greater detail at the risk of not being able to cover the entire syllabus in the short time available.
For the CBCS system, examinations are held at the end of every semester.
