Does the curriculum include project work?

Project work is a crucial part of the PSG College of Technology curriculum. They are expected to do mini-projects in the middle semesters and a final-year project, through which they can learn to implement theoretical concepts in real-life problems. They may involve research, innovation, and even collaboration with industry or research organisations. The project work not only serves to improve technical and problem-solving capabilities but also gets the students industry-ready as well as ready for further studies by promoting teamwork, analytical skills, and presentation skills.

PSG Tech has a very lively and active student body with many student-run clubs and societies covering varied interests. Whether you're interested in coding, robotics, reading, acting, music, photography, or social service, there's something for everyone. The clubs are all run by students and offer a wonderful platform to pursue interests outside academics, find like-minded friends, and learn leadership skills. Campuses organise various Events, workshops, competitions, and fests regularly. Participation in these clubs not only provides an element of fun to college life but also helps students develop themselves on a personal and professional level.

What are the extracurricular opportunities available?

PSG College of Technology provides a wide range of extracurricular activities that will help the students to enhance life beyond academics. Students are allowed to participate in various cultural events, technical competitions, sports events, and community service activities throughout the year. The college has also organised multiple mega-festivals like Kriya (tech fest) and Renesa (culture fest), which receive participation from all over the country. Apart from the compulsory curriculum, there are several student societies and clubs dealing with activities like robotics, music, dance, debating, literature, photography, and entrepreneurship.

How early do placement drives begin?

Placement campaigns in SSGMCE usually start in the last year of the engineering course, usually from the third semester of the final year. The Training and Placement Cell is actively involved in inviting companies and fixing the recruitment activities quite in advance, which provides students sufficient time to prepare and attend. Some organisations might even have initial rounds or interview-based recruitments in the second-to-last year to look for suitable candidates early on. Overall, the placement schedule is designed such that students have multiple chances during their last year of study to find a job before graduation.

Can students participate in off-campus placements?

SSGMCE students are permitted and even encouraged to avail off-campus placements alongside the on-campus placement drives. Although the placement cell of the college mostly deals with arranging and conducting campus recruitment interviews with different companies, students are free to look for job opportunities outside the campus also. Taking part in off-campus placements can broaden their opportunities and enhance their prospects of getting employed in a job that suits their skills and professional aspirations. The students, however, should balance both on-campus and off-campus options to better ensure that they get placed successfully.

Does SSGMCE provide any pre-placement training?

SSGMCE gives ample importance to training students for the placement process through extensive pre-placement training. The Training and Placement Cell conducts diverse workshops and training programs that include significant areas like aptitude tests, technical skills, communication skills, group discussions, and interview techniques. These sessions are held with a view to developing confidence and enhancing the overall employability of the students so that they are in a good position to confront the recruitment process. The college also welcomes industry experts and trainers to conduct training in specialised areas, keeping students abreast with industry requirements and improving their prospects of getting good job opportunities.

I joined this course under self finance so I paid 91000 per year including caution fees development fees lab fees etc. Then we had to pay 3500 per semester as tuition fees. My friends under government aided course paid 24000

All seniors are good soul. They will provide guidance and their notes. So we can easily attend lab exam and CA exams.

* I paid around 10000 per semester. So, I studied 4 yrs in PSG. * In the duration, I paid around 20000 per year-college fees alone. * For 4 years college fees will be around 80000 Rs. * My batchmate joined via donation. So, yearly he paid 1lakh. So, For 4 yrs he paid 4 lakh - college fees alone.

Life in PSG

The odd semester fees are around 55-60k and the even semester fees are around 75-80k. Considering other colleges this is a bit expensive but since psg assures you 100% placement it is okay that they charge us more.

Fees is affordable and worthy for the infrastructure, If you come under Tnea counselling the fees will be 90k, if management 1.2 lakh, po some amount of donation will be ask for management quota. All the best

Engineering at psg from the eyes of a 1st year student

The faculty here is incredibly supportive and helpful. There are also regular guest lectures from industry experts who give valuable insights. The hostel and sports faciities are decent though the gym can be improved. Overall this college offers good return on investments as the fees are on the lower side for a private college

Fee Structures are based on three categories 1. MANAGEMENT 2. SELF SUPPORT 3. GOVERNMENT AIDED Students in Management for Mechanical fees are 18lakhs Donation + Yearly fee 2. lakhs Students for self support are from merit list from tn board or CBSC have fee of 890000 per year Students in Government aided have no fee. They got 12 percentages above 98% , these information are for Mechanical Fees are hugely differ for other courses.

My college fee is around ?63,000 for odd semester and ?16000 for even semester, totally it will come around ?70000-80000 . For management courses, we have to pay donation during admission it will around 15L , then tution fees will come around 1.5L per year.

Yes, you can pursue data science after the arts stream in the 12th class. You don’t require a science stream or technology to pursue the data science course. The college offers integrated courses in the subject.
