Siliguri Institute of Technology B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral) Eligibility

For B.Tech, candidates must have passed the intermediate exam (10+2) or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject; and anyone of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational as optional subject, from any recognized Board or university.
For B.Tech (Lateral): Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology and B.Sc. Degree holders, with a minimum of 45% marks, are eligible for admission into the third semester (2nd year) of B.Tech courses
Students appearing for 10+2 or Engineering Diploma are also eligible.

Siliguri Institute of Technology B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral) Selection Criteria

Admission to B.Tech (80% seats) is through counselling based on the rank obtained in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEE).
Admission to B.Tech (10% seats) is through counselling based on the rank obtained in JEE Mains examination.
There is a provision of 10% of WBJEE sets to be filled up through Management Quota.
Admission to B.Tech (Lateral) is done through the merit based on the qualifying marks & WBJEE exam, and subsequent Counselling by CSC (E&T) on a supernumerary basis, as per AICTE notification.

The overall fees for all semesters and admission are fixed while admission, there is no such fee hike during the study period. SVSCM, state student loan, Oasis, provide financial support and scholarship, if you had your last qualification from a techno India group school then there is a 30% waiver on admission fees. This year there was a record no of placements.

Fees is 43000 per semester and 50000 admission fee. U can also get scholarship based on your marks and merit. You can also get education loan from the linked SBI branch.

For good rang in entrance exam there are some seats where student have to provide 50percent of main fees. Also facility of TFW. Where student s have to pay only 8k. for total 8 semester. There is also loan facility for needed.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I don't know of any scholarships . But there is a TFW scheme where the financially weak students have to pay only for the academics i.e ?1200 as their semester fees. Even my friend is studying under the TFW scheme and has not faced any problem regarding the same.

I don't know About the scholarship and loan programs but many of my friends are getting benfitted from scholarship programs and many took loan from banks.College is good in providing sucg schemes to students.

There is parterner of our college with hdfc bank if we pay our semester fees through hdfc bank then we get 5 percent discount and we get study loan at 0 Percent interest from Punjab national bank.so we get enough of support

Scholarship is given to only those students who have achieved minimum rank four thousand in west Bengal joint entrance examination. Those who have scored four thousand ranks they don't have to pay semester fee as the normal students. They just have to pay 1500 each semester.

Scholarship is named Kanyashree (only for girls.). College doesnt provide any loan facilities to its students but a student can take education loan from nearest bank to avail its education. One can always check west bengal scholarships for more further details(only for sc, st and obc )
