My IEM

Likes

Discipline. The discipline there is the mainstay behind their academic and professional success of the students.
Academic Pressure. The healthy pressure given in academics was the major reason why I came out with flying colours.
College life. The college culture was nice, and we, the students really enjoyed ourselves by making friendships and bonds.

Dislikes

Authoritarianism. The institute survives on Authoritarianism, and whatever was said by the faculty was like an edict for us.
Selective Preference(Sometimes) of students. The placement cell is headed by a person who only allows his favored students to appear for the good jobs.
Strictness. It is very strict, and not even the basic amounts of freedom are allowed in the college, everyone has to follow a certain standard.

Placement Experience:

The placements are really nice. Every year, a large amount of students are employed by Tech Mahindra, CTS, TCS, Wipro, etc. all software giants. The starting salaries are also decent. Most students get placed, but 100% placement has also been achieved by the college now.

The best part of this college is their laboratories are good
faculties are too good.they are very helpful

Dislikes

their campus are too small to you can't sit and talk anywhere

My college has the on campus placement system, and this is too good.past few years my college hold the record of 100% placement for BCA.so we thought that we will also get job easily for placement department head.After getting degree I will do job

Life of a college kid

Likes

Placement is really good and well reputed
Faculties behaviour and teaching is good
Gives a rough idea of corporate life before hand

Dislikes

Too strict feels like a school sometimes
Extreme pressure in studies and assignments
Hard to cope up , always punctual and strict

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am good in computer programming and had interest to continue in this line only so I chooses BCA They are make it better by providing the notes early ... Very bad habit of sending notes before the exams

College life at IEM college

Likes

Iem has one of the best placement cell in kolkata.
Faculties are well qualified and are always helpful towards there students.
Hygiene is maintained in the campus. All the rooms have Ac , fans and projecter

Dislikes

We have to wear college uniform which feels like we are still in school.
There is no group to play any outdoor sports except basketball.
Entrance time is fixed for all and if we take leave for even one day we have to submit a leave letter.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen Bca as my undergraduate degree because I have a keen interest in development and how it works. I took commerce in my class 11&12 so I was not eligible for Btech so I choose Bca which provides same knowledge.

It was a great experience to review about the college.

Likes

I liked the discipline of the college full raging free college.
Faculty are very cooperative and friendly.
Placements are better than other private colleges.

Dislikes

Campus area is very small and feels like no college life.
Rules and regulations are very strict and uniform is mandatory.
Hostel food is average but sometimes it get worst.

Placement Experience:

Placements for BCA department is good compared to any other college than IIT and JU because they are government and also IEM is known for it's better placements, various famous and renowned companies visit and recruit students from our college like TCS, wipro, cognizant, delottie and capegemini etc. Some companies offer good packages like SAP LABS recruit the highest number of student from a particular college that is IEM.

An honest 1st year review

Likes

I really liked the ambience and nature of our faculty members towards the students. They really help us on many aspects in our studies. There teaching methods, knowledge about respective subjects are overwhelming.
The college has regular industry talks and visits where people from various walks of life come and share their experience with us which eventually benefits us. There are several alumni talks which teach us how to prepare for placements.
The infrastructure of the college is good, condition of our classroom is very nice. It has projector,acs desktops and many more. The sex ratio of the institution is also good as it almost 50-50.

Placement Experience:

The placement record of my college for the past few years is good. Almost 20+ companies come every year for placements and there offers are also quite nice being a fresher. Our preparation for the placements start from the 3rd year.

Experience as an FRESHER in IEM

Likes

First thing which like is the infrastructure and the environment.
Second thing which I like the most the helping and Cooperative nature of the faculty members.
Thirdly thing which I like the most is the discipline that they follow to make each and every student deserving to work in a co - operate field.

Dislikes

First thing that I dislike is the arranging of any events on Saturdays and Sundays.
Second thing that I dislike is that getting in college within 09:15 a.m where as the clg starts from 09:30 a.m
Third thing that I dislike is that they provide bus but that must in all routes rather than providing in only one route.

Placement Experience:

Last semester that is the 1st semester of 4th year make the students eligible for campus placements. Companies that visit our college are DELOITTE, AMAZON, SAP LABS, FEDERAL BANK, ADOBE, TCS, COGNIZANT, CAPGEMINI, WIPRO, INFOSYS, IBM. Highest package is of the SAP LABS, FEDERAL BANK AND DELOITTE. They offer packagr above 5 LPA. More than 85% of the students get placed from the campus placement. Plans after getting the degrees is ofc getting a good LPA job from campus placement.

A Good-Bad College Experience.

Likes

Discipline was the most effective thing .
Strictness in the college brought safety and security.
No chance of ragging or any mischievous activity to hamper anybody.

Dislikes

Not allowing late comers for being 2-5 min late when they have travelled 2 hr to come to college.
No sympathetic feelings, love and a linient way of speaking for students.
No canteen , no optional lectures to attend , no allowance of leaving the college before 4 pm.

Placement Experience:

We started preparing for our placements from semester 4. And the preperation kept on increasing with each semester. The companies like SAP, Accenture, Deloitte, TCS started visiting from 5th semester. Their average package varied between 4-5 LPA. If 100 students sit for placement, then approx 85% are placed. That is the biggest flex of the college. We all were placed too.

IEM - The HELL that would definitely make your future a HEAVEN

I absolutely love their way of teaching, not only do they teach main course subjects but also provides thorough guidance for aptitude subjects. And thus they prepare you for both placement aptitude round and other competitive exams.
No doubt IEM is one of the best college in terms of placement. They prepare the candidates with their full efforts and there is no discrimination. They provide almost equal effort for each and every student.
There is absolutely no scene of ragging. Everyone is under strict supervision so there is no such thing like ragging in IEM. And everyone cooperates well.

Dislikes

They make you buy books( only for first year). Like they would literally almost force you. But the money for the books are too high. You can get them online at a much lower price. This system was recently started from 2023 batch.
A bit too strict on terms of attendance. But you won't regret it after you get placed.

Placement Experience:

After completion of 4th semester they start preparing the students for placement. They provide placement classes during which students are trained to sit in their placements. Well recognised companies come such as Deloitte, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, SAP labs etc. The package varies from time to time. But average package is 4-7LPA. A well amount of students get placed. IEM is well recognised for its placement opportunities.

The good and bad of my college life

Likes

the things I like about this college is the campus is very neat and clean
in this college there is no such things called ragging
the campus very sophisticated and the faculty members helps us

Dislikes

there's no such thing like playing ground or anything
the uniform sucks and also there's restrictions that we cannot go out once we entered the college
this college feels like school more than college

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course which I am pursuing is bca(bachelor's of computer application) and the course is very effective for coperate life and it's very helpful too and the teachers teaches us very well i have no complaints about understanding the course and the faculty members will also talk with you on whatsapp
