Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course as it was all tha is needed in upcoming future and also it was affordable. The college prepares you for the basics of everything that is needed and rest is learnt through practical experiences. Only if the some faculties would have been better, we would have had a better clearance of some subjects.

Internships Opportunities

5

College provides nearly 3-4 internship opportunities easily and the rest is dependable. Some of it are paid too. Actually most of it are paid. College prepares for minor and major projects too that boosts the CV.

Placement Experience

4

We started preparing for our placements from semester 4. And the preperation kept on increasing with each semester. The companies like SAP, Accenture, Deloitte, TCS started visiting from 5th semester. Their average package varied between 4-5 LPA. If 100 students sit for placement, then approx 85% are placed. That is the biggest flex of the college. We all were placed too.

Fees and Financial Aid

I studied BCA from IEM, Kolkata. The fees structure was like 55k per semester. During admission I paid 62K as admission(7k) + 1st sem fee(55k). Then registration amount was RS 1250. We had 6 semesters so the total course fees sums up to 3 Lakhs 30 thousands rupees. Apart from these, we had to pay Rs 1200 every semester for the semester-final exams. 6k was to be paid for the uniform, bag, belt, tie, blazer. Then for the labs, we had to buy Lab files (channel files) which were sold in college itself costing Rs 20 for channel file + Rs 1 for each page. So that sums up to approximately Rs 140 for channel file + the no of pages bought during whole course. The fee structure was same for everybody.

Campus Life

3

We had Nirvana, Ashram Cup, Sports day, different clubs. Library had evrything that was needed for the course and extra. All time availability of the computer systems, labs, technology. Basketball, cricket, tug of war, TT, carrom etc etc all were the best games.

Admission

I studied from IEM. The best college in Kolkata for BCA. It is famous for its placement percentage. It worked in our times too. Most of us were placed at good and big companies. This College is the only college that gives its almost 100% efforts to get their students placed. Training classes, regular tests, preparing for Aptitude exams etc etc. the college does a lot for the placements. So this was my first choice and I got that too.

Faculty

3

The faculty-student ratio was not so upto mark. Imagine 1:186 ! We had 2 faculty per subject so parallel proceeding of one subject was all time task. Some faculties were so so good at teaching and at making good relations with students but some didn't give a little damn about us. Most of the faculty used to give us suggestions to study before exam but there were some odd one who never heard and thought about us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- The BCA cirrcuam at THE HERITAGE ACADEMY covers fundamental programming, Database management, and web development which are essential for a career in IT. - The syllabus is moderately relevant but some topics feel outdated. While programming and project based learning help in skill building more industry oriented course like AI, cloud computing, and Data science should be include. - Areas for improvement 1.more hands on training and internship opportunity should be introduced 2.Some subject focus too much on theory rather than practical application 3.Advanced technologies and industry trends should be integrated into the syllabus. Exam system & Difficulty: - 4 exam per semester - PPT Presentation, Report writing, MCQ test, written test then the Final semester Exam -Difficulty level moderate
