Likes

Dislikes
- One majorIssue is that while the faculty room has air conditioner the student classroms do not
- The library is not accessible all the time
- The facilities in our BCA Building are quite average in comparison to the B tech
Course Curriculum Overview
- The BCA cirrcuam at THE HERITAGE ACADEMY covers fundamental programming, Database management, and web development which are essential for a career in IT. - The syllabus is moderately relevant but some topics feel outdated. While programming and project based learning help in skill building more industry oriented course like AI, cloud computing, and Data science should be include. - Areas for improvement 1.more hands on training and internship opportunity should be introduced 2.Some subject focus too much on theory rather than practical application 3.Advanced technologies and industry trends should be integrated into the syllabus. Exam system & Difficulty: - 4 exam per semester - PPT Presentation, Report writing, MCQ test, written test then the Final semester Exam -Difficulty level moderate
Fees and Financial Aid
I am A BCA student at THE HERITAGE ACADEMY in Kolkata, and I am sharing the detailed fee structure and the scholarship information based on my personal experience. 1. Registration & Admission Fees(One-time): 74,850 (Paid at the time of admission in 2021) 2. Semesters Fees: 52,000 per Semester 3. Total yearly fees: 1,04,000 4. Total Cource Fees(For 3 years): 3,25,000 -The Fees are the same for all categories. -As far as I know, the college does not provide any scholarships directly. -If there are any government or merit-based scholarships, I am not aware of them. -The fees increase every year,so future students should expect a gradual rise in cost
Campus Life
Annual and Fechnical Festival : - Epignosis - The biggest culture and technical fest is usually held in February or March every year. - Heritage Academy Film Festival Organized by the Media science department, showcasing student films and media projects. - Ad Adda - A creative fest focused on advertising, media, and entertainment-related event The library had a good collection of books but was not accssible at all the time which was a drawback. The labs were well maintained and useful for projects and assignment Classrooms were basic, and air conditioning was only available in faculty rooms. Sports & Extracurricular activities: the college provides proper sports facilities student clubs & Social groups like including Drama, debate, music, photography etc
Admission
I chose The Heritage Academy for its structured BCA program, experienced Faculty, and good infrastructure at an affordable cost. Its location within the city was also a key factor. ai applied to Techno India, Iem and Amity Kolkata - Techno India had mixed reviews and was slightly expensive - IEM highly competitive with strict cutoffs - Amity Kolkata the fee structure was too high Considering affordability and quality education, Heritage Academy was the best choice. Admission process:- - 12th pass with Mathematics/Computer science as a subject - Admission is based on CET score, but direct admission is also available for some seats - no fix cutoff, but 60% + student preference
Faculty
- Faculty to student Ratio: 1:30, which is quite good. Teachers are helpful and approachable - Best Faculty Souvik Pal Sir, He is friendly, and his teaching style makes everything easy to understand - Least Preferred Faculty: Arnab Kole , Sir He teaches too fast, making it difficult to grasp concepts. Exam System & Marking 1. PPT Presentation 2 .Report writting 3. written 4. MCQ test then, The final Semester exam - Difficulty level: Moderate - Marking: Balanced, Student pass easily if they study
Night Life
Since The Heritage does not have a hostel for boys , many students, including myself stayed in PGs nearby. The campus closed by evening so most of the late night Activities happened outside the college. Campus & Faculties Timing: -Library closed by 4PM -no Gym inside the college & public areas were accessible only during class hours -Campus No late night accessthe gate closed after evening Popular hangout spots the cafeteria was a common chill spot during day but there weren't many options for nightlife inside the campus Outside Campus; -South city mall -Acropolish mall -Rabindra sarobar
